This is my new pinned post. Hi, I’m Lilah! I write comics and I am transgender and sometimes those things intersect, as in my OGN Girl Haven, which is a trans coming-of-age story/portal fantasy! I love my wife and my daughters and also cats and capybaras.

I think the lesson from Lula is not never talk about the opposition; it's articulate a positive vision that's basically, We Can Just Do Things. That's why Mamdani-ism is so popular - voters have an intrinsic sense that their electeds have agency they're not using

No one of any social class has ever gone to The Cheesecake Factory as a first choice. It’s a place you only go when there’s like family in town you can’t agree on anything else.

I rewatched Hereditary today and that film holds up incredibly well to rewatch. Noticed lots of stuff this go round that I didn’t pick up on the first time. *clicks tongue*

Beatboxing is so fun and yet there’s not really a dedicated venue for it that the average person can enjoy like how there is karaoke for singing

I would like to say a loud and hearty FUCK YOU to the man who loudly harassed me today on the street as I was waiting for my coffee order. It’s bad enough that you did it at all (and that nobody said or did anything about it) but *correctly guessing my shoe size* was a low fucking blow. Eat shit!

“The likelihood that your acts of resistance cannot stop the injustice does not exempt you from acting in what you sincerely and reflectively hold to be the best interests of your community.” — Susan Sontag

I have ChatGPT cleverly set up to run my entire life with no input from me whatsoever. I have made myself entirely redundant. All I do now is eat protein and watch AI-generated videos depicting me and Snarf from Thundercats playing Mario Kart and pee into discarded Baja Blast bottles.

They will submit their daughters to this but not to a measles vaccine

Doctors and nurses are voicing their objections. I-638 would require EVERY girl who wants to participate in sports to go through biological sex verification. That means expensive, invasive, and utterly gross examinations. Protect our kids and let them play. Vote NO on I-638

If there were indeed a transsexual empire (we can wish), who would be the Trans Empress? Note that if I am chosen to rule, I promise to provide discipline with a firm hand.

These days few remember that Melville wrote a poorly-received sequel to his most famous work. It focused on Moby Dick’s brother: Toby Dick, The White Male “Call me Ishmael, bro.”

Revisionink History (n): a fictional story told about a tattoo’s inspiration to cover up the actual, embarrassing, story behind it

I drove a delivery van for a wholesale florist for most of one day, until I accidentally wedged the van into a narrow alley from which I could not extricate it. I took a cab back to the warehouse, handed my boss the keys, told him where the van was, and walked out the door.

Btw I was completely freaked out the whole time—I was terrified of getting in trouble but nothing happened and I never heard from them again.

since California ballots are now out: prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box yes on 40, no on 41 and 42

Absolutely anyone can make music. Singing along in the car is making music. Tapping your foot to the rhythm is making music. Music is INHERENT in us. We make it spontaneously and passionately. What is being offered here is a bleak, cheap simulacrum of a freely available and immortal human joy.

TFW you have feelings and the feelings are like bad houseguests that break things and make a mess and eat all your snacks and smoke all your weed and leave dirty towels on the floor and complain loudly about absolutely everything

And yes I’m mad about it because while everyone else is out accomplishing things I’m stuck dealing with these fucking feelings all the goddamn time

YouTuber Camus: I’ve just finished my most recent video essay, “The Essential Meaninglessness of Existence Ruined My Life—What Would Sisyphus Do?” YouTuber Satre: mais Albert! This video will be demonetized! Age-restricted, peut-être! Camus: Sacré bleu! But I need the income!

1. I realized I was never going to be able to create the necessary conditions for my own happiness if I didn’t. Posing as a man was slowly killing me. That’s the most honest reason. 2. Dress go spinny!

do not make fat jokes. yes, even if they're about the worst fat guy in the world who bullies other fat people. it only re-normalizea and entrenches popular use of those jokes against *all* fat people. it really is that simple. and it's really not that hard

I think once a year we should all get drunk and tell everyone exactly what we think of them. The Purge but for feelings. What could go wrong?!

Wish we could have a forced de-icing here in the US

Faytuks Network@faytuksnetwork.bsky.social

In France, hundreds of Intermarché and Coopérative U supermarkets were hit by a cyberattack on their refrigerators last night in which hackers “managed to remotely trigger forced de-icing”, AFP reports. The issue is forcing many stores to throw away their fresh and frozen goods.

It’s National Coming Out Day and if you want to come out to someone safe, you can DM me—I will affirm the heck out of you. It feels good!

I am similarly pleased to see young creators get their first big breaks, and folks who have been slugging away for years get their due. There are a lot of nice things that happen in comics. See, it breaks your heart but it fills it up too

The essence of the conservative white cis man is that he did something challenging once and now believes he understands everything there is to know about hardship.

I absolutely hate that doing these physical therapy exercises makes me feel better, and NOTHING ELSE DOES. Because exercising, and I don’t know if you know this, kind of sucks.

Posting this ONCE more. I think I can get a couple more folks! DM me!

Any trans-femme writers in PDX who would like to do a writers meetup? It would be a combination get-together, writing session, and craft talk. The only criteria are that you are transfeminine and serious about your writing, whether you’ve sold anything or not. Please share with your Portland pals!

Re-upping this because I forgot to earlier!
