In 2008, I had a vision of a blue butterfly 🦋. It had nothing to do with politics or social media. It was a sign from God to encourage my wife and me regarding a chronic illness that took my daughter's life. You can read this amazing story at www.lifelynx.net Click the blue butterfly at the top.

Vincent van Gogh painted The Good Samaritan shortly before he died, while struggling with mental illness at an asylum. He uses his unique style to bring Jesus' parable to life. Was he showing appreciation to those who had helped him in his pain? Or, was he encouraging us to be kind to others? 💚

I wonder if this lunch will undo the damage my fast food breakfast did this morning. This simple salad has grapefruit, walnuts, and homemade Italian herb dressing over a bed of mixed greens.

One more reason to spend time in the woods.

The forest strengthens the immune system and even protects against cancer. Qing Li, professor at the Uni of Tokyo, and his team have found out that spending time in the forest stimulates the production of so-called killer cells. The body fights cancer cells with killer cells.🌳🌲

I'm going to keep doing starter packs. If you want to be added to one, just like, reply, and repost this post so I know who wants to be on them. 💙🌊💙🔄❤️👋🏻💙🌊💙 Here is yesterday's pack in case you missed it. go.bsky.app/NwPihV2

Have you ever stopped to consider that acts of forgiveness, kindness, love, and compassion are as much a blessing to the one giving as for the one receiving? 💙💚💛 Likewise, holding grudges, meanness, hatred, and bitterness towards others is especially toxic to you. 😡 Be kind ☺️

This is definitely worth a repost. Sometimes, there are legit reasons to be angry, but there is a difference in righteous anger and hatred. Love is better than hate. The golden rule is still golden.

Today is the 7 year anniversary of my mother's departure from this earth. I really miss here this time of the year. She left me with an awesome example of what it means to be a strong woman who was unselfish, fun, loving, and strong in her faith.

There is hate on both sides. But there is a better way. We can love people on both sides. We can listen. We can build bridges to understanding. Hatred will not solve our problems. It will only lead to escalation. Hatred and getting the "best" people in power will not save us.

This is Chai. He is an emotional support dog. His human, my daughter, passed away four years ago. He looks out the window a lot. It makes me sad, but I know he is happy with us. We love him so much. He provides us so much comfort. 💚

Leftover turkey? Try this the next day: turkey pot pie with carrots, oinions, celery, and peas. Seasoned with salt, pepper, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme 🙂. You can cheat and use biscuit dough for the crust and cream of celery soup inside 💛💚💙

Compassion for others is woefully lacking in our society. The darker things get, the more powerful a simple act of compassion has to make all the difference in someone's life.
