i'm giving myself the challenge to draw traditionally daily for a year. i already draw everyday but i want to see my draftsmanship improve.

I rarely give opinions on things but Imo "industry standards" is an oppressive tool to remove artists from the creative process so that company can hire less and earn more. Even before AI the spread of "tools" that removed from the draftsmanship was more and more prevalent.

People act like it’s just technology and techniques getting better. But in reality these people only care about making the job faster and easier so that it’s cheaper to make. I don’t think that’s what art is about tho. Any great art project ( game, movies, animes) require hard work and skills.

I think shortcuts are what leads to Ubisoft games or mediocre movies. Ofc other factors can affect those industries like bad leadership and scheduling with unrealistic expectations. But all of these are part of the same problem I think.
