For the past 1 - 2 years, I've been getting several phones calls a day with a +44 indicator. They're _always_ cold calling, to a point where I don't even answer any more. Considering blocking the indicator altogether. Has the UK always been the main source of phone SPAM?

I love to teach the kids by combining tech and history. This is the Effelsberg radio telescope in Germany. The dish is 100m wide and was buily 1972. Back then, it was the largest of the kind in the world. The kiddos loved learning that a lens isn't the only way to look up :)

Me : I should really look into reducing my dependency to the US! Let me try and use Mistral instead of Claude and see what happens. Mistral, within 10 minutes : Creates a branch, a PR, directly force pushes to main, closes the PR. "Oops". Back to Claude it is!

Learning at #vibekode today! Don’t trust the name of the conference 😬, everyone around talks about predictability, scalability and factories. Extra kudos to Adam Bien; with a great talk around what he does best: remove all the fluff and achieve maximum performance using few sound principles. ❀️

I've been diving a bit into geneaology the past year, in my free time. My family tree gets pretty complex very quickly... And last week I read an article from Nicolas on how he uses AI to do this. I hadn't thought about it. Results : 250+ elders found in a couple days. Passionating, so TY Nico! <3

I look forward and much of what I observe is that there is actually more work coming on my plate overall, not less. The capabilities of AI allow me to do things faster than ever now, sometimes I just have to stop to wonder if I like what I'm doing though. 3/4

And this feels very different from past technology jumps. Kotlin, Automation, DevOps: each of those made my work feel lighter. AI makes it faster. I'm not always sure it makes it lighter. Am I the only one here? #devex #devrel 4/4

If we give everyone playing soccer a personal trainer and everyone is going faster and getting much better, is the sport as a whole improving? And more importantly, is it still as interesting and fulfilling for the athletes? 2/4

I wrote about #maestro, an agent orchestration application in the last πŸ‡³πŸ‡± #java magazine. Happy to do a nice shoutout to an app I've been using extensively the past year, and helped me get better at using #AI for my side projects. It even made it up the cover :P

I literally have a gaping hole in my garden which I'm waiting to know if I can close, I have a non functional battery in my backyard that isn't functional and you want me to pay up? Would you please do better? I just want to talk to a human to know what's happening....

I'm using #AI every day, and I think I know its capabilities very well but sometimes I'm still surprised. My daughter's lamp was broken. Sent a photo about the circuit to #Claude, who directly told me the cable was at fault because of a missing resistor. Color me impressed.

It's always surprising to me how the solution "work's been exhausting today, I don't want to do sports" actually is "go do sports regularly anyways, because then work is less exhausting". Body first, mind follows. Have to reteach myself that once in a while.

Between the Spam, the constantly higher prices and the lack of actual valuable features; I think it might actually be time to let Meetup go. Especially since the market has good alternatives with traction those days. Farewell, you've served the community well but it's just time to let you go!

Nugget of wisdom about learning from HackerNews today : "One thing I wish this emphasized more is that adults often confuse learning with consuming material about learning, which is why my useful rule has become: if I'm not producing errors, I'm probably not practicing yet"

Ordered a new screen and the order has been blocked in "processing" for the whole week. Delivery date promised showing Monday on the website. Support says "usually happens within 3 days". After 3 days, orders from another shop. Same story. Now having 2 screen orders in limbo mode. Curse is realπŸ’€

I'm looking into doing some redesign in my house and we've reached the point where there's so much AI online that I can't see any more what's possible to build and not. Another year and I bet there'll be a space for AI free content locations. AI has good use cases, this doesn't feel like it

So I've spent some time yesterday creating a Claude skill to do market research for all my little app ideas and rank them by opportunity. After looking at 250+ ideas the one that ranks highest is an app that uses AI to do market research for all little app ideas and rank them by opportunity πŸ˜….

It’s this time of the year 😊. Always doing my best to join JSpring, a great java conference right in my hometown . Best way to see amazing speakers, exchange insights about new developments and stay In touch with the community . See you there! 🎊

It's been 12 times that I tell Youtube that I'm actually ok with listening to videos in their original language and that I didn't need auto AI dubbing. So I'm officially canceling my Youtube premium account. Was long overdue anyways. I can't believe this is actually something people would want.
