This Black MAGA creator says she “cannot believe the disrespect” after being removed from a San Antonio rally hosted by Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton!?!?! Why would they treat her this way???

We're just a little over 2 months out from DREAD CHASER, and I've gotten some awesome blurbs from some AMAZING authors. First up, from the inimitable @scalzi.com: "A wild ride through twisting storms. Dread Chaser reads like cinema. I sprinted through the pages to find out what happened next.”

I took many things away from that day: The understanding that plans WILL change at the last minute and that's okay; John's 3 non-negotiable rules of Q&A (which I still use); and most importantly, just how much of a difference it can make to be treated with kindness and respect by someone you admire.

I will always appreciate @scalzi.com for being so supportive during my first big step into Author Life, and for graciously making time to read DREAD CHASER and offering a blurb during what I know has been a busy season. Go buy his books. (And if you want, mine too.) DREAD CHASER releases 1/5/27.

John was my first-ever panel partner at my very first official author event a week before my debut novel I'LL STOP THE WORLD released in 2023. Our other two panelists had to cancel at the last minute, and John's last minute pivot plan was to just talk about me. (I did not let him, LOL).

COVER REVEAL! Behold, the amazing cover for my next standalone speculative mystery, THE NIGHT THAT WASN'T, my "The Last Thing He Told Me" meets "Sliding Doors" story about a woman moving between two very different versions of her life as she searches for her missing husband.

A will-they-won't-they story where both outcomes are true, THE NIGHT THAT WASN'T is a twisty tale of quantum physics, love, marriage, therapy, perimenopause, high school friendships, parenting, biracial identity, second chances, pet ownership, bullying, grudges, secrets, and of course, murder.

I love the fractured feel of this cover, the vibrant colors, and the porch swing tying it all together—the swing where my MC, Jamie, either shared her first kiss with her husband, Caleb... or walked away from him for what she assumed was forever, until Caleb comes back into her life 25 years later.

This was such a great night!

FINALLY I CAN TALK ABOUT IT. Coming April 2027, my next speculative mystery for adults, THE NIGHT THAT WASN'T, about a woman in her 40s who wakes up one morning to find herself in a totally different reality from the one in which she fell asleep.

HEY #DRAGONCON PEOPLE 1. Did you know the YA Lit Track has a book club? (several actually!) 2. Did you know that my wibbly wobbly timey wimey Back-to-the-Future-inspired '80s-set mystery I'LL STOP THE WORLD is one of the YALT Book Club picks this year?

I'LL STOP THE WORLD is for anyone who was a teenager in the '80s, anyone who is a teenager now, anyone who remembers what it feels like to have EVER been a teenager, and anyone who has ever looked back on their life and thought, "what if things had been different?"

It's got time travel and pop culture references, a main character with raging unmedicated ADHD, solid friendships, a sweet sapphic love story, a small town scandal, found family, at least one dead body, and plenty of '80s nostalgia. I hope I'll see you at the con!

I pitched this one to my editor as THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME meets SLIDING DOORS. It's a mystery wrapped in a quantum conundrum, dealing with the what-if questions we all ask about the paths our lives might have taken, but few ever get to explore.

Writing this was so fun—I got to include so many things that interest me: quantum theory, perimenopause, therapy and mental health, parenting, friendships, dogs, cats, memory, and so much more—and I'm so thrilled to finally be able to speak openly about it.

FINALLY I CAN TALK ABOUT IT. Coming April 2027, my next speculative mystery for adults, THE NIGHT THAT WASN'T, about a woman in her 40s who wakes up one morning to find herself in a totally different reality from the one in which she fell asleep.

In one world, she's married to the guy she's loved since high school. In the other, they haven't seen each other since the night of their graduation, which culminated in the violent death of one of their classmates.

When her husband goes missing, she must put together clues from both versions of her life in order to find him. The more she looks, the more she becomes convinced it all has to do with that night 25 years ago, when they either kissed for the first time, or walked away from each other for good.

In Ankara, Trump boarded the old AF1 jumbo jet in view of tv cameras. He was secretly shuttled minutes later to a smaller plane — Air Force C-32A — via airport catering truck typically used to load meals and other supplies preflight, according to a US official and material reviewed by The Post.

I REALLY love this wrap, since it shows the ruins on the left which gives context for the giant tornado on the cover. Shows that it's not just the weather, but the world that is volatile. Such a great design.

I literally today just finished reading @laurenthomanwrites.com's upcoming novel Dread Chaser, which I enjoyed enough to give a blurb to.

I hope you'll come along with me for this adrenaline-fueled story of a boy, his dog, a bunch of monsters, and a world that has just about had it with humanity. Preorders are available now, and I'd also love if you'd add DREAD CHASER on Goodreads, Storygraph, or the reading app of your choice!

Reminder that genAI companies don’t care what you use it FOR, whether it’s generating CSA imagery or propaganda or novel-length works, or if you “just” use it to organize notes or “research” or write emails. They just care that you use it. And the more you use it, the more this will keep happening.

TRAD PUB AUTHORS: We're almost at the point where we're ready to start soliciting blurbs for DREAD CHASER, so if you'd be interested in an early read of my YA post-apocalyptic bounty hunter adventure with monsters, shady government conspiracies, found family, and a Very Good Dog, please let me know!

Authors, show me your tattoos to commemorate your books! Did you do covers? A symbolic image? Quotes? Something abstract? I think I'm going to start one that I add onto with each book and would love some ideas.

You can tell I'm coming up on my deadline because instead of working on EITHER book I'm supposed to turn in soon, I'm back over here trying to make Bluesky work again.

What's your random thing you think about all the time? Not prompted by current events or anything else, just always on your mind. For me it it's entropy. Just constantly thinking about how everything in the universe is slowly but surely endeavoring to melt into a puddle of inert cosmic goo.

Hats off to GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN DON'T DIE for absolutely roasting society's embarrassing prioritization of convenience and self-gratification over everything else, including our own wellbeing. More movies should aggressively shame their audiences about phone hypnosis/ gun violence/ social media/ AI.
