"The first time we have sex after the baby, my husband tells me, 'I’m not attracted to big girls.'” @lauraleighwrite.bsky.social's story, "Circe," in our May/June issue:

Best line from a book club scam about The Stone Catchers: "Your novel's exploration of justice and the 'stones we choose to catch' is exactly the kind of morally complex discussion our members thrive on." The stones we choose to catch??? I'm putting that phrase on all future marketing materials.

I keep thinking about people saying, "well, technically, he is allowed to..." whatever it is. Here's the thing: not everything is made illegal or legal for leaders, but we do expect our elected officials to act within the spirit of the law, to hold democracy high. The whole system breaks down 1/2

when people don't want to preserve what we have, when people act like authoritarians. And right now, this system is breaking. Is broken. And there's no stopping it until everyone stands up against authoritarianism. 2/2 #authoritarianism #America #democracy
