“It doesn’t matter if I win or lose the defamation trial because I’ve already beat him. I’ve beat him to a pulp. He wanted me to crawl in a hole and die. And now I’m going to the Emmys in two weeks for a documentary that I’ve done about this.” antigravitymagazine.com/feature/aman...

Four bills now in Congress are attempting a nationwide erasure of #LGBTQ+ books and history from public #libraries and classrooms. Representation saves lives. Silence is not neutrality. Stand with us - Demand #Louisiana leaders vote NO on national book ban bills: la-cac.org #LGBTQ #StopCensorship

When vague laws put funding at risk, schools often “play it safe.” That can mean avoiding #books, removing materials & silencing discussions. Four bills could now create that kind of chilling effect. Tell #Louisiana's Congressmen: don't make #censorship national policy. Learn more: la-cac.org

Parents should guide their own children's reading—not politicians deciding for every family. S. 4925, H.R. 7661, H.R. 2616 & H.R. 8705 will make #censorship easier nationwide. Tell #Louisiana's members of Congress: protect the #freedomtoread. Sign our letter campaign. la-cac.org

The Missouri AG threatened Daniel Boone Regional Library in Columbia with total defunding and investigations if they read books with LGBTQ+ themes to kids in a Pride story hour. They did so anyway. Our latest story from s. Baum of one library's defiance against an oppressive Republican regime.

On this Right to Read Day 2026, Louisiana Citizens Against Censorship stands with our libraries, stands for the rights of families to make their own choices, stands against book bans, and stands for the freedom to read freely. And yes, we will always stand in the way. Find out more: www.la-cac.org

It's normal in libraries to see a small number of book challenges by parents & patrons who have concerns about content. Today, however, 92% come from organized groups, including officials and dark money groups like Citizens for a New LA. It's time we reclaim our libraries for the people they serve.

Today the ALA released its 2025 most challenged books list. Across genres and ages, one trend persists: these bans target marginalized voices. Reading about others teaches empathy & promotes understanding; it's time to ask ourselves why that idea is so threatening to those who want to ban books.

ACTION ALERT: H.R. 7661 threatens school libraries & takes away parents' rights to guide their children's reading. If it passes, public #libraries are next. Protect #Democracy. Protect #freadom. If you live in #Louisiana, take 30 seconds to email your Rep here: actionnetwork.org/letters/stop...

actionnetwork.orgSTOP H.R. 7661 - A NATIONWIDE BOOK BANOn February 24, 2026, H.R. 7661 was introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives. Despite its name,  the "Stop the Sexualization of Children Act" does nothing to protect children; instead, i...

Here's the issue: A recent AG opinion suggests that simply being able to encounter a book in a #library is justification to restrict access to it. We say: No one is forced to read a library book. #Louisiana families deserve to make their own choices. Learn more in our latest statement.

Something big is happening to #Louisiana libraries, & most people haven't even heard about it. A new AG opinion could change access to books in public #libraries across the state. This affects every family, every reader, every community. The freedom to read matters. Follow us to stay informed.

Today we honor Dr. King's call to non-violent action against hatred and intolerance. If you've been thinking about joining our efforts to protect access to information and ensure that libraries continue to be safe spaces for everyone, please reach out. We'd love to have you.

"Library collections do not exist to reinforce partisan beliefs. Instead, libraries provide access to as broad a range of viewpoints and ideas as they can, guided by objective selection criteria." This is why #libraries are so critical to a functioning #democracy. #knowledgeispower #themoreyouknow
