Finally got around to installing @kytor.com's Retro Tap - despite my mostly unattractive install and the remaining ratsnest of other cables (from GameCube, Wii U, Retrotink, etc) this thing *really* cleaned things up. Definitely worth the purchase.

Please note, order processing will be paused from Friday October 16th to Monday 26th. All production and shipping will be delayed during this time. Thank you!

I finally own an AES. I made sure my fingers were sufficiently cheesed prior to handling

Component delays are going to push out RetroTap Batch 2, once I have a clearer picture I'll communicate out the new expected date. Mean Well PSUs should still be restocked prior to the end of October.

All RetroTap launch day orders have now shipped! This took over double the time I had projected, and I apologize for that delay. As a single person team it's not sustainable to process such volume. Subsequent batches will be much smaller, but with a shorter gap between each.

Remaining Batch 1 (launch day) RetroTap orders should all be shipped out next week. Batch 1.5 will be available at @castlemaniagames.bsky.social in October. Parts procurement for Batch 2 is in process. Thank you!

Approximately 55% shipped

Approximately 30% of RetroTap launch day orders have shipped. The next batch is estimated for October 27th.

Thank you everyone! RetroTap launch day was a success. There was only a brief site crash after 11 AM EDT but it recovered and held strong for the remainder of the day. Inventory planning was based on feedback and presales. Some interesting trends and lessons: 1/6

Atari 2600 cables which sold well during presales sold slowly at release. Meanwhile, the inverse occurred with TurboDuo cables which sold very poorly during presales. These sold strong during release. In fact the 6 ft sold out! I was not expecting that. 5/6

Now the focus turns to shipping orders; please allow up to two weeks. The next batch is approximately 6 weeks away. 6/6

I expected a significantly larger percentage of people to use the PS2 Slim PSU. This tells a story where early adopters / presales lean heavily towards the PS2 Slim PSU, but release day customers did not. 3/6

Mean Well PSUs sold at about double the expected rate. I will address this for the next batch. The quotes I am getting back from the vendor have a hefty price increase but I am fighting back to try and keep this down. More to come, I want to avoid a price increase if I can. 4/6

Email went down, blocked by the provider due to the volume spike, around 11:30 AM. This was resolved in less than 30 minutes. If you did not receive an order confirmation email reach out: kytor.com/store/contact/ 2/6

I'm happy to announce the RetroTap will be releasing on September 3rd. RetroTap is a 9V, 5V power distribution system that powers up to 11 retro consoles, compatible with 45+. It replaces aging, bulky wall warts with a simplified, modern, central power solution. kytor.com/store/produc... /1

There will be continuous batch re-stocks of RetroTap, with no plans to stop production. This is not a limited one time release. I have a healthy stock of DC power cables, I do not expect to sell out of those. /3

Key features: • Premium injection molded shell • Available custom-spec 18 AWG power cables • Auto resettable fuses on every output • Low-noise, filtered power • Polarity protected 9V input /2

Mean Well NGE65U power supplies for the RetroTap are now in stock. kytor.com/store/produc... The RetroTap itself is on schedule to launch around the beginning of September. The exact date will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

Interested in Mini-DIN breakout boards? These will be available for sale soon. I am also planning to open source what you see here.

The direct store (kytor.com/store) has been migrated to a better CC payment processor, which comes with some added perks: Support for Google Pay and Apple Pay checkout. PayPal is still offered as an option for those who prefer it.

Hello everyone. USPS will be dropping the 4oz and 8oz shipping tiers on July 12th, which means they will round up to 15.99oz. The majority of shipments from my store are in the 3-9oz range, which unfortunately means some shipping rates will be going up a bit.

Big hoss has joined the fleet. H2D “Sevastopol” joints Nostromo, Sulaco and Auriga to expand capabilities and production bandwidth.

I'm working on some Atari Jaguar things for Retro Access. The good people deserve crispy RGB when playing Alien v Predator at 8 frames per second.

A minor RetroTap announcement: Atari VCS / Atari 2600 power cables will be added to the roster. These DC cables will be available at or before launch.

Found a Tiger Game Com that had a bunch of dead/flickering lines both horizontally and vertically Disassembled and worked K tip over the ribbon to fix it, came out perfect! Then printed a stand from @kytor.com and we have a cool display piece for the shop 👍
