On Android I’d got used to Rethink filtering DNS for the whole device. I wanted the same on macOS, without giving up browser-level blocking. So I wrote up the setup: dnscrypt-proxy + RethinkDNS, how to route macOS through it, test it and where it leaks. kud.io/blog/2026/10... #macOS #DNS #Privacy

kud.ioFiltering the internet before it reaches my appsRethink DNS + Firewall made me want the same device-wide filtering on macOS. A local dnscrypt-proxy can put encrypted, filtered DNS underneath the browser blocker so desktop apps and background proces...

New on the blog: why my app studio is called Beans on toast. It's named after a meal I've never eaten, the five-minute dinner of Britain, while the apps get fussed over like bowls at a ramen counter. I like that gap. kud.io/blog/2026/10/24/why-my-apps-live-on-a-slice-of-toast #indiedev #design

kud.ioWhy my apps live on a slice of toastI live in the UK and I still don't quite understand beans on toast. That confusion, and how funny the phrase is, became the name and the whole look of beansontoast.app.

Flights in email, hotels in apps, the plan in Notion. On the road I wanted one screen: where are we, what's next, what do I need there. So I built one. A week of use changed its data model more than its design. kud.io/blog/2026/10... #pwa #notion

kud.ioA road trip that fits in one tabI built a private travel companion around a Notion itinerary: map, bookings, offline data and a timeline that distinguishes a hard deadline from an afternoon with room to wander. Using it for a week c...

Two small plugins for opencode v2 🧩 statusline: path, branch, model and title in the prompt footer shell-highlighting: commands in amber, in files and fences "plugins": [ "@kud/opencode-statusline@0.1.0", "@kud/opencode-shell-highlighting@0.1.0" ] kud.io/projects/opencode-plugins #opencode

I wanted a hotkey for each of the websites I live in, in Firefox. So I made Fox Hop: one key and you're on that tab, from any app on your Mac. It opens it if it isn't there yet. Hotkeys via Raycast, or the terminal: foxhop focus todoist kud.io/projects/fox... #Firefox #Raycast #mozilla

πŸ‚ November, my amber-on-blue-grey theme, now lives in opencode too. Night Owl syntax, readable diffs, one JSON file, nothing to build. Drop it in ~/.config/opencode/themes, run /theme, pick november. github.com/kud/november-opencode #opencode #theme #terminal

πŸ–ΌοΈ Pasted images in Claude Code used to be a mystery `[Image #1]`. Now they show up above the prompt, real pixels, in iTerm2 too ✨ image-view, a little Claude Code plugin 🧩 The iTerm2 trick: CLAUDE_CODE_FORCE_TERMINAL_IMAGES=1 πŸ‘‰ github.com/kud/claude-plugins #claude #anthropic

shui, my design system for Zsh scripts, had three releases this month: β€’ piped output is plain text, NO_COLOR/FORCE_COLOR work everywhere β€’ pickers no longer redraw a row too low on macOS β€’ multiselect options can show a grey hint, like a build time https://kud.io/projects/shui #zsh #terminal

opencode crept into my day next to Claude Code, still in stock tokyonight. So I made it match: a transparent theme, my Claude Code statusline, shell scripts in colour again, via a plugin API the docs never mention. kud.io/blog/2026/09... #ai #ai-client #claude #opencode #themes

πŸ“£ npm's min-release-age-exclude doesn't reach npx yet. `npx my-pkg@latest` won't error: it quietly runs the newest version older than the window, so your own fresh release stays invisible for days. Workaround: npx --min-release-age=0 github.com/npm/cli/issu... #npm #nodejs

It always makes me laugh when AI tells me, "It's quite a big project; it would take about an afternoon to do it", like I give a fuck.

Google Meet has released a new Gemini Notes feature that you can now use in person. There is no need to start a fake meeting anymore to record it, just start an in-person meeting and record. You can also use useminutes.app if you prefer; it's open-source and well-made. #ai #meetings

Tip: If you're working on UI, recording a quick GIF and passing it to an AI is quite useful, as it is essentially a sequence of images. This is especially helpful for fine-tuning animations. #ai #animation #frontend

I wanted to access my private GitHub repositories inside Claude chats, even on mobile. Creating an OAuth app and using it for this MCP (api.githubcopilot.com/mcp/) did the trick. It took a couple of steps, but it works smoothly now. #claude #anthropic #github #mcp

Don't know if it's sad or amazing: AI makes it possible to quickly write all the tools you need. I do believe in OSS & collaboration, but sometimes you face disagreements about the direction, or you find something essential is missing. AI allows you to quickly create your own project instead.

Having multiple instances of #Claude is great, but you start to lose your mind with so many different contexts. I believe more and more in having an orchestrator instance that delegates tasks to agents and/or sessions, especially since Claude allows communication between instances (/list-agents).

Just shipped pcloud-cli 1.2.3 β€” pCloud from the terminal. Rewind a period, not a file: pcloud rewind --to 20:30 lists every restore it would make, and does nothing without --apply. Plus a full-screen browser, sync diagnostics, shares. kud.io/projects/pcloud-cli #cli #typescript #opensource

gandi-cli 0.7.0 β€” run `gandi` with no args and you get a TUI: pick a domain, browse its DNS records and web redirects, edit inline. New: `gandi redirect update` patches a redirect in place, keeping the TLS cert delete-then-add throws away. https://kud.io/projects/gandi-cli #dns #cli #terminal

I’m flabbergasted by the new ChatGPT app on desktop (which used to be Codex and now does both). There is a kind of Siri mode now as a floating window, and there is also a dictation mode Γ  la handy.app. So useful.

Shipped @kud/glyphs πŸ”£ β€” a single source of truth for terminal Nerd Font glyphs. Map a name once, generate TypeScript + zsh, escape-safe by construction. No more hand-mapping invisible PUA codepoints per project. Powers my zsh design system shui. https://kud.io/projects/glyphs

πŸ“Ί Control your Google TV from the terminal. gtv-cli got a refreshed UI and a fuzzy launcher β€” hit / and any of its 19 built-in apps is one keystroke away: Netflix, Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi, VLC, Apple TV & more. npx @kud/gtv-cli https://github.com/kud/gtv-cli #googletv #cli #nodejs

Just built two MCP servers β€” mcp-lastfm + mcp-qobuz β€” and now Claude actually knows my taste (scrobbles, loved tracks) and builds real Qobuz playlists from a vibe. "Dark shoegaze from what I actually listen to" β†’ 16 blackgaze/post-punk tracks, done. 🎧 github.com/kud/mcp-lastfm #MCP #AI

I'm really impressed by the performance of Ink@7. Ink@6 used to be slow, especially in fullscreen mode. Now, it makes me really consider stopping the use of OpenTUI and using Ink@7 fullscreen instead.

🦊 Just shipped Fox Hop β€” jump to any Firefox tab from a global hotkey, via CLI or Raycast. Bind a key to your Claude, Todoist, Gmail or ChatGPT tab β€” anything you live in. 🎡 The Qobuz toolkit grew up since launch. New: @kud/mcp-qobuz β€” explore your library with AI. A macOS daemon (qobuz-bridge-cli) that puts Qobuz in Control Center with working media keys. And a full-screen TUI in the CLI. qobuz-cli hit 1.0 πŸŽ‰ kud.io/projects #macOS #TypeScript #MCP
