This. I spent decades in Upson&jasper county GA. None of my family listened to country, we were very working class. My ex has been friends with @coybowles.bsky.social since school. But we were a 99X (I still listen to the morning X some days) house. I couldn't name any ZBB songs then or now.

Again, there's the implication that working-class must equal white. On top that, country music isn't necessarily more popular among white working-class people, depending on where they live. I grew up in a working-class household and we never listened to country music. We just didn't care for it.

If you asked me to describe country, it always sounds like "white people whining in an off-key way". Why would I want that? Or the cringe inducing fake cowboy/christian schtick Especially the likes of John Rich who'd melt down if they trod in horse shit (he does love to brown nose bullshit tho)

A year ago I was still technically homeless (in a supported shelter for homeless people) and I had an interview with a job through a program to get me in a proper job, home etc Took the job they offered and started right after Halloween (was offered 2, one at Lidl and this one)

I'm there rubbing shoulders with all the big names in the industry field, getting facetime and networking with my bosses bosses bosses bosses bosses boss. Christmas eve 2023 I was 3ft from walking in front of a train. I'd had a stroke, abandoned by my family, cleaned out by my abusive ex wife.

But now I have a future again, a career, the ability to thrive and grow. Sure the trauma is still there, that I'll suddenly get fired for a screw up and I'll lose everything again - it'll probably always be with me. But sometimes there's good things that happen. Moral is "grasp chances when you can"

Friday night I had dinner with the head of that program. But not just him, on the other side of him was the head of my company (one of the top10 biggest danish companies) contract with the place I work (one of the 20 biggest in the UK), at a London awards do where we talked about management training

When companies do #ITsecurity badly. my work account has us login with a password, or a PIN My pin is 10 digits long, so has 10 billion combinations (1 with 10 zeros) My password is 20 chars, each one of 80 characters. That's 1 with 104 zeros possibilities. Guess which must be changed every 100 days

I've sometimes described my job as "putting out fires around the site". In 5½ months I've now had to LITERALLY do it three times. This time the butt bin in the smoking shelter caught fire... (And thats the least scary of the 3)

So last night, someone went and turned the render distance WAY down. Sure my system was running warm yesterday and struggling slightly but I think the config went too far. Anyone know where I can access the settings for Real Life, so I can bump things up?

Something that's really started to bug me, is that sellers often add related tags into marketplaces, and no-one ever checks them and penalizes them. TWICE this week I've bought what seemed to be an M.2 SSD only for it to be a SATA SSD when it arrives. it's SO incredibly frustrating.
