Much fun has been had about the high lewd to in-game pic ratio in the game covers I've been scanning. While hilarious, in the world of #PC98, this doesn't mean the games are bad, or an afterthought.🧵 I think the higher-ups / marketing guys just had a "firm" stance on which "assets" to promote 😹

since my last upload was found archived on the dev's website that was somehow still up, lmao, here's a new attempt at dumping something that hasn't been available before: a card battle game called Shuumatsu Kyoudan Summoner Girls. i'm laughing already in the intro, so looks very promising 😹

(yesterday when i asked around if anyone's ever seen this dumped, i got crickets lol. it's always only after i post about a game that someone gets serious about searching for it, hahah)

duel mode seems to take you to a tournament called Power Glove, with lots of characters to choose from :D

lmao, internet sleuths better than me found that the dev's site is still up, and is hosting *all their games*, including this one, as convenient zip files 😹 tryit.kenkenpa.net/tko_arc/ i guess we now got flux dumps at least, and later at some point, scans of the manual (with some manga) etc 😁

*looking into the usual places (neo kobe set, mame softlist etc), the only thing i could find was an earlier iteration of this game, called Wild Flowers, which came on only one disk, whereas this one has four. even the 🇯🇵 doujin gallery guy doesn't seem to have this one 😁

the first differences i notice are that WF takes you straight to the battle as susan, whereas EWF has story and duel modes, where the former starts with a character select screen, followed by a fancy background story intro sequence 🕺

seeing the english translation first, i thought theres no way these words are real. yet, somehow, they are

oh wow, i caught an absurdly lucky break! that nasty pattern in my previous post (caused by the read head picking up crap and starting to carve up the disk) somehow didn't hurt the disk, like, at all. even when the piece of crud falls off after a few tracks, like happened here, you're almost always

NOT what you want to see on your disks, and it's always the undumped stuff 😩

left with a huge, nasty scratch in the the shape of the problem area. but for some reason, this time, there was no such thing, and after cleaning the disk, it dumped 100% fine. i guess the preservation gods heard my plea, and now we get to play this amazing-looking doujin,which i'll post about next😸

normally when this shit starts happening, you hear it from the noise of the drive changing, which lets you ctrl-c abort the read, hopefully in time for the damage to not be fatal. but this time, there was no change in sound, so imagine my shock when i saw that crazy-ass error pattern, hahah
