This book! This book has already made me smile so much and I'm just 50 pages in. When I read the footnote and quickly flipped to the back to see if there was actually a recipe included, I actually giggled with joy. @kiricallaghan.com you have created magic with this book. I'm absolutely loving this.

This adorable lovely human whom I admire, makes delightful things and streams are like hanging out with a buddy. At the start of the last one, she read my book to kick things offand I feel so loved. Also, it has been too long since I got to enjoy her company. Had the VOD on as I went through email.

Just a frozen cheesecake from the grocery store because I can only be a menace in the kitchen so much in one day. But I topped it with the lavender earl grey whipped cream from @kiricallaghan.com’s book and some blueberries and holy shit it’s amazing

Yellow has such an intensely complicated history throughout the world—like any color, I suppose. In Victorian times, it was seen as a shade of rebellion against repression, but also as a color of contamination—Oscar Wilde was shamed in headlines for carrying a “yellow book” when he was arrested.

Yellow clothing/clothing items have historically marked stigma against various marginalized groups as far back as at least The Middle Ages, yet it has also been a symbol of royalty.

One thing is certain, and it is almost trite in the cliche of it all. Nothing exists in a vacuum, and predictably, context is king. Is this a color of joy? Or sickness? Rebellion or cowardice? Every aspect of the story has a part to play and inform.

When you have Für Elise stuck in your head and your ADHD thinks, “would it help if we pretended we’re playing it on the piano like we used to and probably don’t remember how?” And now it’s even further cemented in your brain but also piano fingering on your desk is kinda soothing, but also omg stop

Anyone else a little bit devastated when you realize too late that the notebook you bought has perforated pages and now you have to go against the grain of your brain that says, "Can't write in this, the more you open it, the more likely the perforation is to activate and you will lose that page!"

if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed. everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

Except that it wouldn't look like a promoted ad for Advil. It would provide a definitive "Oh, you have a headache? Take fourteen Advil in the next hour!" There wouldn't be ad text, such as it is. It'd just respond definitively, and be totally wrong and dangerous. And it's already happening.

“God hates—“ No. There is very little that I know for certain, but what I do know is this: if an all-knowing god/God does exist—that god does not have LESS empathy than I do.
