Trying something new in my fused glass mosaic art. I am pretty happy in how it came out With some fun use of negative space and a lot of personality. There is something called the Volcano school of art, it would fit right in. #glassart #islandart

An amber necklace made up using one of my glass pendants. Collaboration by artists can be awesome and in this case make excellent gifts. After all it is hard to be good at everything, but when people share the different things they are good at… magic. #glassart #glass #islandart

Dichroic glass has two colors to it, these pictures kind of show off how the same piece can look blue or yellow depending on the lighting. fun design too, I should try that again. Made with “glassline” black. #glassart #glass #dichroic

Here are pictures of my glass Pueo owl mosaic before and after lightly being (tack) fused together. This makes all the tiny glass shards into one solid piece and keeps the detail better than full fusing. #glassart #stained glass #islandart

Finishing up a small owl, glass mosaic. I will tack fuse it together (the only grout is clear glass frit). It has plenty of personality and will look great as a suncatcher. Used the native pueo markings, they have cool dark lines around the eyes. #glassart #mosaic

Took a casting class where you carve bullseye vermiculite board to make a mold for glass. Behold my mighty green glass doughnut. A important thing with casting colored glass is a little bit of color goes a long way #glassart #glass #Casting

Just did a kiln firing, my most recent work. Plenty of personality so I’m happy with the result. Fused glass mosaics are really cool, I hope more people try it. Does require a glass kiln. #glassart #tiki

They recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of art deco. I wanted to encourage all glass artists to do a google search for a great French master artist named Rene Lalique. He made amazing art and developed techniques still in use today. Random pic of mine for some color. #glassart #glass

I took a class teaching a technique where copper wire is used as an inclusion. It’s always great to learn new techniques. There is room for innovation in glass and I love trying new things with the material to see what happens. #glassart

Testing out a new phone camera. This is a tiny landscape made with glassline pens and scraps of glass. As an artist I love taking small pieces of glass and seeing what I can do to make them look cool. #glassart

An unusual dichroic glass cabochon. The green colored layer crawled up onto the glass above it creating what looks like a green skin around an eye. Messing around with repeated firings can yield interesting results. #glassart

A large air plant blooming in the yard. The actual flowers are small but come from that cool pink bract. The plant looks like a small shrub you can pick up and move around the yard because its an air plant, no roots. #houseplants

For Friday a cast glass tiki head I made pre pandemic. I love glass casting and it’s because you can make crazy and beautiful stuff like this. This guy has been on fire and it will burn strong for a long while. #glassart #tiki
