One of my local trading card stores got in the Chinese 30th Anniversary Pikachu blind box figures… so naturally, I bought an entire sealed box to guarantee the whole set!

A sealed box guarantees no duplicates - you’ll usually get all twelve standard figures (like I did), but there is a small chance of the secret figure replacing one of the standards at random.

Forgot to mention: each figure comes with a copy of the card (in Simplified Chinese) it is based on. I’ll be displaying mine with English copies of the cards as I pull them.

There is a ‘secret’ 13th figure that I don’t have yet, based on the original yellow-cheeks Pikachu card from Base Set.

Surprisingly (to me at least), Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons are actually less complicated internally than original Switch Joy-Cons, and I actually had a very easy time taking mine apart and replacing the shells (pics later).

There’s one particular ribbon cable in the originals that always gives me grief; didn’t have that experience with the Switch 2 Joy-Cons.

We’re still in the process of unpacking everything at our new house and getting back into hobbies, but I really wanted to play this game as I waited almost two years for my physical copy from Rock It Games.

Maybe I’ll go back to Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection next? I finished the first game as I had that one as a kid, but never played any of the others.

Well, this is exciting: Game Freak & The Pokémon Company will be releasing a series of art books to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. This will include a set of three artbooks covering all of the mainline games, from Red & Green to Legends Z-A, totaling 1500 pages. www.4gamer.net/games/993/G0...

How the heck am I going to secure one of these?

Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/p...

We’ve been talking about the ‘inevitable’ all-digital future for years now but it feels surreal that’s it’s *actually* happening. PlayStation has been my platform of choice for multiplatform/third-party games due to its trophy system, but I guess I’ll be switching to Nintendo from 2028.

I’m normally more of a Pikachu merch girlie but sometimes other stuff catches my eye. I do hope this comes to Australian retailers because this is gorgeous and I want it so bad!

There were some really decent announcements in last night’s Nintendo Direct. First time in a while that I’ve thought “this is a good year for video games”. And yet the game I am most excited for came out of the Xbox Showcase. Never thought I’d say that.

I also want to pick up the Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Collector’s Edition. The funny thing is, though: -I have purchased every single Fire Emblem Collector’s Edition since Fire Emblem: Fates -I have not finished a Fire Emblem game since Fire Emblem: Awakening (the game before Fates).

I went to a Chaos Rising prerelease yesterday, placed 19th out of around 24 people (tie, loss, loss)… but in the end I kinda won the event when I pulled this from my last participation prize pack!

Prerelease number two is tonight. I am hoping to pull the reverse holo Stunky common card. Or like… the gold Mega Greninja ex would be nice too.

I’ve said it before; the Pokémon Adventures manga has the best storytelling of all Pokémon media, in my opinion (and I’ve only finished the Red & Blue and Yellow chapters so far).

There seems to be quite a few new and returning Pokémon fan sites popping up lately, and I am LOVING it! So heartwarming to see fans return to the independent web space. It’s motivating me to get back into working on PokéPrint (my laptop needs a new battery again, however).

I should be moving into my new house within the next couple of months, so I can finally settle back into a dedicated space for computer-based projects. I have some other craft-related projects for PokéPrint and beyond too, and all my art and craft supplies have been packed away since August.

The LEGO Venusaur, Charizard & Blastoise set got delivered to my PO Box yesterday! I won’t be opening it and putting it together until we move into the new house in a month or so, so I guess it’ll be our housewarming present to ourselves.

What I did not know, when I went to the post office yesterday without a car, is that it weighs OVER TEN KILOS! I had to take it on the bus and walk almost a kilometre home carrying it yesterday. Damn thing better be worth that effort!

Easter is in two weeks and I don’t think the Pokémon Center has revealed this year’s Easter merch line yet. Should I be panicking? Because I’m panicking.

Well… Easter is over and still no 2026 Easter/spring Pokémon Center merch line. I guess they want to focus on pushing the 30th Anniversary merchandise instead.

I’m also wondering if perhaps the fatal incident at the Mega Tokyo Pokémon Center late last month is affecting their announcement and release schedules. That would be understandable.

I forgot to mention, but I went to a Perfect Order prerelease a couple of weeks back, and it was so fun! I didn’t realise how much I missed attending these - the last one I went to before this was XY—BREAKpoint, and that was ten years ago!

I really do miss collecting sets, and as tempting as it is to start up again, I know I’d only be satisfied if I could master every set, and that’s unfortunately an unrealistic goal. But I’ll definitely be attending prereleases just for the fun of it going forward. Can’t wait for Chaos Rising!

I’m not going crazy right? They haven’t announced Easter merch yet? I know they’re focussing on 30th Anniversary merch, but they usually announce Easter stuff pretty early, sometimes even in January, so it’s weird that they haven’t shown anything yet.

FIFTEEN WHAT?
