The Aeonium plants are loving autumn and there are some good Halloween names too. Here's 'Pink Witch', 'Voodoo', 'Medusa', and 'Green Witch'. #aeonium #succulents #GardensHour #plantsky #gardensky

Crassula corallina. I always end up with a million cuttings of this one. I like to make succulent gardens that look like miniature coral reefs so it always comes in handy #crassula #succulents #plantsky #gardensky

Agave montana. This is apparently one of the hardier Agave species but I don't think I'll try it outside for winter yet. #agave #succulents #plantsky #gardensky

We had loads of Aeonium tabuliforme seedlings pop up this year after a plant flowered. One of them looks different though (top middle) so I reckon it hybridised with something else. I'm trying to think what other species flowered at the same time. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky

my mum got 1st prize at the mesemb show last week for her Peter Rabbit garden planted with Delosperma napiforme turnips. #delosperma #mesembs #PeterRabbit #plantsky #succulents

I had meant to enter my Sword In The Living Stone bowl garden into the mesemb show but I accidentally left mini King Arthur at home. oops. I thought it might as well sit on the show bench for the day anyway so I gave it a random bird #lithops #mesembs #GardenersWorld #succulents

the donkeys didn't win anything at the mesemb show at the weekend but my Titanopsis and ammonites garden got 3rd #lithops #succulents #mesembs #titanopsis #plantsky

I found quite an interesting fossil last week. I thought it was just a piece of bivalve shell, then turned it over and realised there was a xenomorph of an ammonite on the other side #FossilFriday #fossils #ammonite

When the flowers die off, this will look exactly like Scarborough beach. Lithops lesliei v. venteri C001, grown from seed, plus donkeys. I'm taking this to the Mesemb Show in Manchester tomorrow. #lithops #succulents #mesembs #plantsky

There was a bad smell in the garden yesterday and I was about to blame the bins but then I realised this Arum pictum had started flowering. The flies were loving it #arum #aroids #GardensHour #plantsky #gardensky

This Aeonium had self-seeded into one of our other succulent plants so we dug it up this week. I thought it was an Aeonium spathulatum, but now I'm wondering if it's a hybrid with another species. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardenssky

The Lithops have grown massively in my The Sword In The Living Stone bowl garden. Does King Arthur still fit? #lithops #succulents #mesembs #plantsky

The double-headed Lithops still flowering in my living stone garden. Lithops lesliei v. venteri C001, grown from seed. #lithops #succulents #mesembs #gardenshour #plantsky

It's been a good month for Aeoniums. They’ve grown a huge amount in September after hardly doing anything for most of the summer. Here are 2 massive Aeonium tabuliforme plants, Aeonium 'Medusa' looking very pink and Aeonium glandulosum. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky #GardensHour

I was also pleased to see my Sword In The Living Stone bowl garden appear in the British Cactus and Succulent Society journal this month. I'm hoping to take it to the mesemb show in Manchester next month too #lithops #succulents #mesembs #plantsky #GardensHour

Another plant flowering on my little living stone bowl garden now, a double-headed one this time. Lithops lesliei v. venteri C001, grown from seed. #lithops #succulents #mesembs #plantsky #GardensHour

My Sword In The Living Stone bowl garden appeared in the British Cactus and Succulent Society journal this month #succulents #lithops #mesembs #plantsky

We bought this Aeonium glandulosum at the National Cactus and Succulent Show in June but only repot it into a bigger pot recently and suddenly it's pretty massive. It's another species that grows as a single flat rosette. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky #GardensHour

My Chamaecereus luisramirezii plant got a few seedpods after flowering last year. I assume it crossed with a Chamaelobivia hybrid. I planted the seeds this spring and they've grown really fast for cactus seedlings. I wonder what the plants will look like? #Chamaecereus #cactus #plantsky #cacti

My Titanopsis and ammonites bowl garden now and 2 years ago. Haven't they grown? It hasn't had any flowers yet this autumn but it should start flowering anytime now. #titanopsis #succulents #mesembs #plantsky #fossils

Faucaria paucidens flowering in my mesemb garden. Planted with a Rhinephyllum, Trichodiadema and a Faucaria tuberculosa. #succulents #faucaria #plantsky #GardensHour #mesembs

Our pond sprung a leak years ago so the only water feature I've had in the garden this year is the mini river in my Winnie The Pooh bowl. I'm thinking up succulent garden ideas for next year and I like the idea of one with a mini lake rather than a piddly little stream. #GardensHour #succulents

I was going to collect some Frailea seeds but I left it a bit late so I've got seedlings popping up in several plants instead. Frailea perumbilicata spinosior, Frailea angelesii, Frailea buenekeri and Frailea phaeacantha. #cactus #frailea #plantsky #cacti

I took some cuttings of my variegated Aeonium 'Garnet' plant this week. I left a few heads on, including one that has hardly any green. This plant offsetted heavily because a caterpillar ate its growing point. The last pic shows it in June. #aeonium #succulents #plantsky #gardensky

I've got more Frailea plants with big yellow buds but I'm not sure we're going to get a sunny enough day for them to actually open. I've moved them to the front garden where they'll get more sun just in case. Frailea gracillima grown from seed a few years ago. #frailea #cactus #GardensHour #cacti

I reckon the Faucaria paucidens in my mesemb garden could flower tomorrow. The ones I had in the coldframe had their flowers nibbled by snails so I hope this one survives. Planted with a Rhinephyllum, Trichodiadema and a Faucaria tuberculosa. #succulents #faucaria #plantsky #GardensHour #mesembs
