I changed my Bluesky handle so I could get verified on this thing.

What is the most effective way to let Apple know that Liquid Glass is an abject failure? A company with a rather good history of good design has gone significantly backwards. How do I best let them know?

I saw a post about Rance and it turns out that they omitted the F and were just posting about France. I had thought Rance was the poster’s nickname for the rancid one stinking up the White House.

Michael Saylor is bad for Bitcoin. Whales in general, to be clear. The promise of BTC is a better future. I think that's what Bitcoiners want. Hard money vs permanent inflation, or some other aspect of it, promises improvement.

But in what future are we better off if wealth is massively concentrated? And how can you promote a better future to non-Bitcoiners if that future is just as unfair and unequal as now: It will be better! Cool. How? In none of the ways you currently care about!

OK, that's my thesis. Maybe it's wrong, but it seems to me, as of now, that Strategy is bad for Bitcoin's future. I am open to conversation around this. (But I'm not open to hardline ideologues with harsh words.)

Vote Yes on 50 It’s sad that we are at a point where this measure is needed. I’d rather have a national ban on gerrymandering. But tough times call for tough actions so I am voting for this. It’s above-board, temporary, and makes a real difference against fascism. Vote yes on Prop 50!

Email from city council rang true: Living our values Each of us has a responsibility to live with intention, compassion, and persistence, and to turn away from the things that divide us and focus on what we can do together to build a city where dignity and justice guide the path forward.

I remember the stunned pain of the attacks on this day in 2001. Still grateful my coworker Steve suggested he and I go for a walk as we were considering the brutality. Many other memories. But I have to say, the self-destruction of USA by the red hats is, in most ways, harder to bear.

While I understand the good behind the Cardinal Directions, it favors fascists. If people at the top are gonna to violate the Constitution and a bunch of laws, some ways of protesting and fighting back are not allowed here. They can torch society but we can’t fight fire with fire.

I have a friend who is very mentally ill. Our mutual friends all talk about him and hope he gets help. When I talked to him about it, he told me that he is fine and that I need to get help. This post is really about him. It could be about somebody else, too.

Extreme weather events will continue to become more common. Black swan floods will become 100 year floods and 100 year floods will now happen many times in our lifetimes. It's an extra bad era to reduce national weather resources. To do so is deadly. We can't save every life, but damn we can try.

An SNL skit about Fox Canoes, a lakeside rental shack that rents splintery, leaky watercraft but the elderly keep coming back and defend it even as they drown, and who paddle even more furiously when the black lady sheriff joyously tries to be reasonable here. But, you know, funny.

The acting head of lice* said, in so many words, actually quite explicitly when you think about it, that their white families matter while non-white families don't. It is disgusting and shameful. May he rot. *you know who/what I'm talking about

May you have the patience of Job? Nah. May you have the patience of the Deep State. These evil left-leaning puppet-masters that have all power and are in all branches of government, look at them just waiting patiently to take a single solitary action. I mean, that's some Biblical patience!

There’s another person out there with my name who is on the side of the orange poop and the white peeps. I apologized to somebody earlier today about that. And I’d like to apologize for all the whites wielding their right-wing hate and racism. Those people suck.

There are so many sites you have to juggle if you want to look for work! Sign up here, sign up there. A complex interconnected mess of, like, 47 employment sites. Never fear! AI companies will solve this by ... *checks notes* making 47 more sites, all for the same number of openings.

I’m heading to teach acting class. That’s the good news. I’m in the back seat of a Tesla. That’s the bad news. Lyft upgraded me to Black while I wasn’t paying attention and apparently they think I wanted this? Ugh. I don’t want any connection to the crime and corruption. Also, it’s a bumpy ride.

“You voted for him to prove your masculinity! You hoped to IMprove your masculinity, too! It’s been 100 days! Is your penis bigger? Bust out your manhood measurers! And call in now! Talk to us live! On this special episode of the Tate Huberman Rogan Maher Podcast!”

Empathy allows me to feel pretend feelings and sorrows and imagined pain. And my nervous system is sympathetically wired, and it conducts that current to you sitting in the movie theatre ... so that we all feel that it is happening to us at the same time.” Meryl Streep

I’m still bullish on Bitcoin but it’s disheartening. Some people who swear they’re 100% into “freedom money,” as they call it, are fine with all sorts of recent anti-freedom. So, they’re just into the “money” part. You’re right if you’re skeptical. BTC tech is sound, but the bros are not.

Searched YouTube for “ATS resume how to” and discovered hell. Bad videos. All annoying, not useful. Laughable thumbnails. Forced enthusiasm. No hard info. Inane questions designed to trigger. Did I search for “loud timeshare sales people I’ll want to strangle”? Holy hades, is this crazy….

On this Passover I really hope the angel of death does NOT pass over his house. You know who I’m taking about. Or his, too. That other guy, as well. Cmon angel! They don’t have blood on their lintel. Do. Your. Thang.

I always enjoy the details of Metropolis II, the popular kinetic sculpture by the late Chris Burden. But it's the oncoming 6 lanes of cars at the end that's probably my favorite part.

Wordle 1,387 5/6 ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I still like new-to-me Wordle patterns, even if posting about such things seems silly now because my country is being destroyed by low-quality goons.

I walked by the turtle pond today for the first time in a while, and the turtles were out, basking in the sun, in huge numbers, more than I remember. Sorry, didn't get a picture, but to me it was another awesome #HandsOff rally like the one I went to yesterday.

“Never miss an important update! Turn on notifications.” Haha. Catering to the gullible. What do you think I am, a Fox News viewer? I know that “getting important updates” will not be the defining result of turning on your notifications.

I think we should put a stop to AI telling lies, no matter how small, no matter how much the lies line up with inauthentic corporate-speak that is also untrue. My job application was denied by AI. It did not happen “After careful deliberation.” Don’t lie to me like that. I’d prefer the truth.

Bluesky mobile app question. The blue dot in the lower left above the up icon is almost always on. Therefore it is essentially useless. It seems meaningless to me. But it triggers my OCD! Is there a way to get rid of it?
