Started HotD for the very first time and discovered Emma d'Arcy. If they can rock both, so can I, right? I just need to find a fancy dress!

Update: I tried on a dress, I found myself hot af, I bought the dress. I don't think I've worn one since highschool (and I had one (1) and one day I just thought it didn't suit me anymore even though it was my fav).

Re: the Lestat season. It's the incest part that I cannot stand and has me dislike it so much. Though the last two episodes have been a tad better (thanks to Louis, Regina/Claudia, and Akasha).

Older lady peeped the rainbow flag on my bike, asked in a thick Russian accent “It’s your Pride?” She told me her youngest grandchild is “not she berry or he berry but no berry.” I said “Nonbinary?” She got so excited. Yes! Yes! And “Is a secret, but they are my“ *looks around, whispers* “favorite.”

I also tried the demo for Slugware's Object Impermanence, because the concept seemed interesting, and honestly yes yes yes. A nice brain teaser where you have to keep things in your line of sight to solve puzzle. Infuriating when you finally get what to do and accidently move a bit too on the side 😂

ICYMI for this.weekinsecurity.com: I wrote about the rise of age verification laws around the world, and why requiring you to upload your government-issued ID to access apps, websites, and VPNs is a really bad move for the internet, and puts *everyone's* security and privacy at risk.

this.weekinsecurity.comPapers, please: Age verification laws threaten everyone's online security and privacyLaws that require adults to upload their driver's licenses or passports to access apps, websites, and VPNs will make the entire web less safe.

You are not “behind the times” if you don’t use AI. This isn’t computers overtaking typewriters or photography displacing illustrators or whatever else people compare it to. This is worse, this feeds into the machine that wants you helpless. Stop letting them make you so

Tempted to preorder this if I can where I am, because god The Starving Saints is the 2025 read still stuck in my head.

We are being punked out of a livable wage and a livable earth by the corniest, cringiest, and most powerful carnival barkers in history. The future kinda sucks?!

OpenAI ”acknowledged in its own research that LLMs will always produce hallucinations due to fundamental mathematical constraints that cannot be solved through better engineering, marking a significant admission from one of the AI industry’s leading companies.” You can’t trust chatbots.

Last night I was working on something in English but was chatting to a friend in French. Or so I thought, cause at some point my brain stopped braining, and I couldn't recognise the words I had just written in two texts. I was absolutely convinced I had thought and written in French. It was English.

I'm doing it again! Come join me as I walk you through a fun little scenario I cooked up 🧑‍💻

Seeing the world, thinking how "never again" didn't even last a century, and remembering that coworker who asked us why she should care about people long dead (re WW2) or about people she doesn't even know now, and added she'd probably let us die rather than risk herself. Fuck her & people like her.

Yes, this speak to my inner child who wanted to become a knight!

Check out the release date trailer for 1348 Ex Voto, an upcoming third-person medieval action game in which you embark on a quest through Medieval Italy as Aeta, an up-and-coming knight tasked with saving those close to her.

Coworker1: I need to buy new bras, were jumping too much in my sport class. Me to C1: I'll look and send you the sizes of my sport bras for you! Coworker2: why, you don't train anymore? Me to C2: It's just I don't have boobs anymore 🤷 Everyone laughs 🫶

I just discovered the word "quixotic" in a sci-fi book. And I find it absolutely fascinating that a literary work was influential enough to spawn a new word referencing it directly. (And thanks to @merriam-webster.com for the clear explanation and everything on its website)

Next year I'm not forcing myself to do this and will sit all of those festivities out again. And, as I'm writing this, I'm not even due to see people until the day after tomorrow 🙃

If I ever go back to seeing a flavour of psy, I'll have to have them help me figure out why "so are you doing Christmas this year?" makes me want to scream and jump out a window. Like I can buy gifts without too much issues, but as soon as Christmas get-together is mentioned I want to run far away.

This. This is what is absolutely maddening about the whole thing. We gotta live in shame and hide. We. Not them and their hatred.

She dared to be herself and got killed for it. And rather than change the world to set that injustice right so she could have safely been herself no other child should be allowed to do such folly as choosing who they are

I forgot how time consuming bleaching is and I am bored to hell at the hairdresser's. It was an impulse, I did not take a book with me. And I'm thirsty. And hungry. Goddamit self.

The witch took her hands off the patient's body. "First of all," she said with absolute conviction, "there's nothing wrong with you." "The doctor-" "Said you must be either man or woman?" "That it's black or white, no grey." "Nonsense. Every colour in the rainbow is between black and white."

Nothing like explaining why you don't buy HP stuff to colleagues and being faced with the most blanked faced reaction (+ the "but she already has so much money, it doesn't matter if I keep buying" and "but what about my childhood 🥹") to know I will never be safe around those people 👍

My cis colleague, complaining TO ME about being misgendered because people don't know how to read her name: 🥲 Me, being misgendered constantly, including by this very colleague, who knows I went through surgery:

Today I learned a colleague (A) suggested to another (B) that she talks to me because B is really struggling atm, involving s-h, and well A thought I'd be the best person to understand what B is going through, me having been there done that. Which. Yes, I guess. But also, not sure how to feel 😅

As the world continues to be a terrible place, I need you all to know that my friend's dinosaur-obsessed one-year-old saw dinosaurs with feathers at the Natural History Museum and now calls them "fluffy rar-rars". FLUFFY RAR-RARS.
