ChatGPT just told me to use `'use server'` to mark a file as "server only". Even the LLMs can't avoid this "trap". 馃槄

some more context: we deploy our apps to a k8s cluster, and during deploy both old and new version of the app might receive traffic at the same time, so to make sure users don't get 404s on static files, we put the public files on a CDN and use assetPrefix to point all static files towards it.

New experiment: Running Linux full time on my gaming PC and see how far Proton takes me. So far Factorio runs natively, and TrackMania and Belatro runs perfectly under Proton 9. 馃榿

Fun side effect of HTMX: Messed up the security config of the server by accident, and HTMX happily renders the login screen as fragments for the lazy loaded parts of the page. 馃槄

Looking forward to Tanstack Start 鈽猴笍 Its philosophy to put itself between next and remix really resonates with me. 馃憖

Oof. :( Nextjs's server actions generate a unique id at build time. When a user has an older version of your app than your server is (aka. version skew), nextjs will throws an error because it can't find the id. When self hosting, this means I have to avoid server actions completely. 馃槄

I could host several versions of the app, and route to the correct k8s pod based on the version. But that's a whole lot of infra just to handle this, when version skew can usually be handled by deploying breaking changes in several steps to allow the changes to propagate to your users.

You are up to date.
