The anti-ai sentiment in coding is, frankly, anti intellectual. Coding is the one thing ai ethically. What, you only use code generated by artisan hands? Come off your high horse. There are only so many ways code can be executed. Coding is a science, not an art.

The same goes with software. Websites are sanded down so much that they have no more humanity in them. Software functions and looks like humongous grey goo. Interchangeable. Unpersonal. No trace of humanity.

That’s not to say you can’t write exquisite code - you absolutely can. But it’s more aligned with a perfectly laid out complicated equation than the Mona Lisa.  What’s interesting about software is the design and functionality. Those remain the human side of it.

And they always will. If people want to stop AI music, they should make music that conveys humanity, not perfection. I’d our pop scene wasn’t quantized, auto tuned down to the picometer, AI music never would have taken off. The problem is so much music humans make now COULD be machine made.

Each query takes fractions of teaspoons. Fractions. It’s the training of models that takes up water, however it’s wildly out of context. Peanuts, almonds, lawns, etc take up thousands of times more water each than all the data centers.

It’s cool today chickens have a dynamic HUD health system. Wattle/comb looking vibrant red? That’s a healthy bird. If it looks pale, she might not be laying eggs - she’s either old or needs attention. Discoloration and pale? Yo that bird needs a powerup, stat.

Valve needs to work with easy-anti cheat (and others) to make that work in SteamOS. Whether that’s a special, encrypted kernel level A-OK security check that’s available to developers or what. Not having that will really limit the push of SteamOS on Deck, Machine and Frame.
