The “Teen Takeover” trend is concerning. I mean throwing fireworks into crowds is bad. But let’s look at the cause. They have nowhere to go. Few third spaces. No recreational sports available. Too many places that ban them. We are failing teens. It is possible to hold all of these thoughts at once.

Feeling overwhelmed with all of this. LISTEN. Another Louisiana resident (Marshawn is the only name we have) testifies against the state’s racial gerrymander, speaking truth to power up and down the hearing room and predicts how this story will end. Speak your truth, fight and believe.

"It is a weird thing as a parent to feel like you were the lucky one and your kids are the unlucky ones." @elienyc.bsky.social tells @deanobeidallah.bsky.social how it feels knowing that because of SCOTUS his kids will grow up with less rights than he had.

This is not true—driver’s licenses aren’t acceptable under the SAVE Act without additional proof of citizenship. The fact that they keep doing this sleight of hand should make clear that the SAVE Act is not something that “every American gets”

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Scalise on the SAVE America Act: "It just says show a picture ID just like you do when you get on an airplane or go buy beer, or, by the way, you could not get into the Democrat convention without showing ID. Every American gets this."

💯. Exactly.

Unlike the astonishing number of air power experts who’ve revealed themselves in recent days, I have no clue whether what US military is doing is “good” war fighting or not. Fortunately for me, I don’t care! I oppose the war whether it’s fought “well” or not. My opposition isn’t about execution.

things every single republican president of your lifetime has done - started a war in the middle east - completely destroyed the economy

Can someone share this with Ezra?

I taught a university course in the US on peacekeeping. The 1994 genocide in Rwanda was the lessons that most students found most uncomfortable... infamously, the Tutsis were called cockroaches on Radio TV MC. Some three months later around 700 000 - 800 000 people had been murdered.

All of the sudden I am getting posts that have nothing to do with my interests. Many are offensive. All highly annoying. I’m blocking and clicking “show less like this”. Is that the best strategy? I’m avoiding the discover tab at this point too. This was sudden. Anyone else seeing this?

I have no words. Everyone prepared for the constitutional crisis of the President defying the SCOTUS. The crisis is the SCOTUS being fully aligned with Trump’s vision of presidential power. So here we are.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25... From Sotomayor's dissent:

What's up with Justice Jackson? She started making her mark and speaking out early, and some of her dissents are so pointed Kagan and Sotomayor don’t even join them. The far right is out for her, and even Republican justices are getting snarky. So what's up? Here’s my take 🧵

Allow me to address the elephant in the room: The decades-long outsourcing of domestic manufacturing to China was not an insidious Chinese conspiracy for dominance but the greedy strategy of the American ruling class to explode its profit margins by exploiting global inequality.

I know it's not an option for me because I am not Canadian but I can imagine the sheer glee I would feel if I could cast a vote for Mark Carney today. Looking forward to the world celebrating the election of a brilliant and principled leader.

Selling people to an El Salvador dictator is not deportation. And doing the same to US citizens is not deportation. Can every journalist use the actual language and stop calling is deportation? Disappearing, trafficking, slavery, etc. Call it what it is.

In 24 hours our government officials made a propaganda video in front of caged people and disappeared a graduate student. Imagine what we would say if this were happening in any other country.

Today has been beyond shocking. Multiple things happening in one day — every day — and most motivated by cruelty.

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts. Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

This is perfect. Captures my own views more eloquently than I ever could. Thank you!

So, I am going to be honest with everyone here, over the past couple years I have had a bit of a personal evolution on trans issues. I have come to a place of *unequivocal* support for trans people. I would like to share my thinking as I hope it will prove useful.

I am a middle aged mom of three young adults and I worry about a LOT of things. A transgender woman sharing restroom space with me doesn’t even come close to making the list of worries. Nancy Mace is full of hate.

"If a woman doesn't look woman enough to a Republican, they want to be able to inspect your genitals to use a bathroom? It's disgusting. Everyone should reject it completely... they're endangering women, they're endangering girls of all kind, and everyone should reject it. It's gross." - AOC

You are up to date.
