A few weeks ago, I was informed I was being laid off from NBC News. I’d been on bereavement and medical leave, so it was a bit of a shock. After taking some time to reset, I am now open and looking for work both in and outside of journalism. Get in touch at hello@daysiatolentino.com.

For @nbcnews.com, I wrote explainers for the No. 1 and No. 2 apps in the App Store: RedNote and Lemon8. The apps have exploded in popularity amid the looming TikTok ban. Read more about the apps and why so many people are joining below:

Oops! I was so busy I forgot to share that yesterday was my 8th anniversary at @nbcnews.com! I always called myself an NBC lifer and I still feel that way. The people I’ve met here, the work I’ve done here — it’s all been the greatest honor of my life. Here’s to many more years!

Playing my first non-coop horror game alone in the dark since I moved into my new apartment and I am both excited and terrified. If you’ve never played Mundaun, I highly, highly recommend it from its hand-penciled art style to its unique gameplay to its incredible storytelling. But it’s scary!!!

Deck Nine JUST released Life Is Strange: Double Exposure — a MASSIVE game in the franchise and now that the game is out they’re laying off members of the team. When I say this year has been a catastrophe for the gaming industry, I’m being delicate.

Having one of those days where I’m so busy I just looked up, saw it was 5pm, realized I haven’t eaten but also don’t want to eat. Is this what being a baby is like? Are we human or are we dancer? Nacho is giving me CPR

If confirmed, Mehmet Oz would be the first federal administrator to advertise health supplements on TikTok Shop. Top comments on his latest videos include “OMG WE ARE COOKED,” “The universe has to be toying with us,” and “we’re DOOMED.” www.nbcnews.com/tech/interne...

nbcnews.comMehmet Oz potentially violated influencer marketing standards promoting supplements, watchdog saysTrump’s pick to direct Medicare and Medicaid uses social media to promote herbal remedies for stress relief that he quietly profits from, according to Public Citizen.

Also the second time Borislav Slavov, the composer of Baldur’s Gate 3, has been in my top artists because ya girl is always down, down, down by the river.

Literally had tickets tonight for Wicked and then I got a giant delivery and boxes are Nacho’s nemesis. Now he’s panicking so instead of watching a green witch sing like an angel I’m watching a blue French bulldog with an anxiety disorder try and cope with cardboard.

When @stefficao.bsky.social and I were buying stuff for my new apartment we made a horrifying discovery that for some godforsaken reason the At Home store is selling chevron brooms and with mint-colored dustpans. I don’t know who from 2012 they’re catering to but this should be a federal crime.

“A Million Gruesome Ways to Die” — a song from a pre-alpha game that doesn’t even have a release date yet — is the song of 2024 and I’m not going to argue with you about this.

I wrote about the cursed and recently unearthed 2003 Disney video game Piglet's Big Game, which some are saying is akin to "baby's first" horror game. If you’d like to find out why “Winnie the Pooh’s” Piglet might be your new sleep paralysis demon check out my latest for @NBCNews:
