In audioproxy, peaks are a format, like mp3 or opus: /f:peaks/pts:800/plain/local://interview.mp3 Output is audiowaveform's own JSON or binary, so the players read it as is.

„The Machine hums! Did you know that? Its hum penetrates our blood, and may even guide our thoughts. Who knows!“ E.M. Forster, The Machine Stops

I've added a new browsing mode to discoverbandcamplabels.com: "The Dig" 🪏 I built this directory so you can discover more music, by browsing labels that are similar to a label you already like. Now the site finally lives up to this promise. Dig through music and put it into a crate:

Find out what works, they say, and do more of that. Well, something that always „worked“ for me is my passion for music, audio, and sound art. So I‘m doubling down on that 🧵👇

The TLDR is that the deploy step that's been removed was doing an actual job. It was making sure that the natural anxiety that goes with publishing your software had a natural crystallization point, where it was felt and dissolved, not blocked out.

After I published The Vibe Coder's Sound Check, I was approached by a founder building on Softr. The setup was clear: A no-code solution with vibe coded parts that needed human judgment.

Capabilities, in short: - apply transforms as URL parameters - signed URLs - fully cacheable by CDNs and/or a configured variant store - S3 and local file sources - built on Elixir/BEAM for maximum stability - built-in backpressure and queue contention management

What can we do about agent-generated technical prose? I enjoy agentic coding, but pull request descriptions, commit messages and code comments are so overloaded with meaningless slop they're downright useless. If I have to read the term "load bearing" just one more time...

To make ImPulsar4 more widely available and playable I've decided to mold it into an interactive web art piece that follows precisely the same mechanics as the installation, but allows you to interact with it. impulsar4.julianrubisch.at #SoundArt #ExperimentalMusic #SpatialAudio #GenerativeArt

Confession: I haven’t tried Fable yet because I don’t think I have a task that necessitates it at the moment 🙈 Definitely some kind of saturation kicking in for me.
