🎊 Speaker Announcement 🎊 For LGM#7, we have our first speaker "Kayode Adeniyi", an "AI Research Engineer" who'll be talking about "From Satellite to Seed: Where AI Agents Fit in a Flood Project". London "Geo" Meetup is a monthly meetup for anyone working or interested in the geospatial domain.

London "Geo" Meetup: The 7th Edition A monthly meetup for anyone working or interested in the geospatial/geography domain—professionals, students, academics, and hobbyists. I started this meetup to create a shared-space for folks to come and share their geo-stories in casual setting.

if you couldn't "London 'Geo' Meetup" attend before, this is a great chance to come say "hi" or just observe. I initially started #LGM with idea of creating a "space" to bring geo-stories where people can meet in person, this one is different in the sense that's it's virtual (more in session)

We have 2 talks planned: 1. From hackathon to live map: the geo-stories behind Sky Score by Bilal Khizar 2. FOSS4G:UK 2026 Wrap Up and my FOSS4G Journey by Json Singh (where I'll just be rambling about open source and stuff..no slides)

a live map of flight paths and aircraft noise for homes across England and the San Francisco Bay Area, built using official public data. Bilal will share what he learned along the way — from flight paths a Reddit user proved wrong to a flood map that showed floods in the wrong places. 🌍✈️

While the original idea for #LGM was to invite people to meet in person and share geo-stories, with my schedule so full in the past month I knew it would be impossible to host an in-person session so I decided to go virtual and get a feel of how folks feel about yet "another call" in their calendar.

I am looking for speakers for the event next week, the format is casual so just sharing your "journey" will be very appreciated. Wherever you are on the spectrum of doing geo-things, I would love to hear from you.
