Thanks to @luxmy.bsky.social for having me on BBC News live today to discuss the effect of the latest US tariffs on my business. It's too long for Bluesky, but I managed to post the clip to LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/... #ElbowsUp

Publication alert!🧪 Major new volume on early tetrapods and Carboniferous palaeoenvironments. The festschrift for Tim Smithson has just been published by Earth and Environmental Science Transactions of The Royal Society of Edinburgh. Most articles are open access. www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

Lots of meaty papers from Tim Smithson's festschrift. In addition, we contributed a little paper on a lungfish otoccipital from the early Mississippian of Nova Scotia. Nothing fancy but it shows affinities with groups previously known only from the Devonian. www.cambridge.org/core/journal...
New paper day! From Conrad Wilson's MSc comes the description of the back of two ray finned fish skulls. These show that in the earliest Carboniferous aged rocks at Blue Beach, Nova Scotia, there was a mix of ancient forms and more advanced fish known from younger rocks. #vertpaleo #paleontology
New paper day! From Conrad Wilson's MSc comes a new predatory fish from the earliest Carboniferous deposits of Blue Beach, Nova Scotia. This is the first fish in the fossil record to have its largest teeth in the rear of its jaws. #paleontology #vertpaleo #paleosky

Earlier this year, @arvalis.bsky.social commissioned me to build a muscle model of a Komodo Dragon. Lizard anatomy is well studied, but many resources are hidden in literature often unknown/inaccessible to artists. The mission was to make an idealised, artist-friendly reference for lizard muscles.
New paper day! This is the second in our series of revisions of early amniotes. This was started using old latex peels until the original fossils thought lost were relocated.

New paper day! This projected started when Jenny Clack passed latex peels of this specimen to me and Taran 10+ years ago. Jozef later found the originals, presumed lost, in Prague. Wonderful to see out! Another on this topic is forthcoming journals.plos.org/plosone/arti...
