Inflation eating up worker pay. Household debt and student loan defaults at a record high. 8 million people have lost healthcare. 5 million people have lost food stamps โ€” including 2 million children. Gas prices skyrocketing. Trump says, "Pretend I'm on the ballot." Please do.

America is being crushed under the weight of corporate greed. This is what 'for profit' everything gets us, huge bills, higher prices, poverty and never-ending debt. It's a big ship to turn around, but it must be done.

This is true of every stereotype used against Dems. Who's the real 'tax & spend' party? The GOP. The real 'soft on crime' party? The GOP. The real 'big government' party? The GOP. The real 'endless war' party? The GOP. It's all projection that the media buys into.

Jennifer Shin - WTAF@jennifershin.bsky.social

Fucking facts. Democrats are held to a much higher standard than the Rapepublicans. While they "smash and grab", we're expected to clean up behind them. Every.Single.Time.

"After months of protests...."

Hoodlum ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ@nothoodlum.bsky.social

Another stunning defeat for a Trump-aligned right-wing leader in Europe. Serbian students voted out their authoritarian leadership after months of protests against corruption, taking their fight from the streets to the ballot box and turning people power into political power.

I don't care who signed those documents, I care about who follows them, and MAGAs care nothing about either of them.

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

No, they were middle-aged men wearing powdered wigs, elaborately embroidered hostess jackets, silk hose, and shoes with enormous buckles and substantial heels. In other words, our Constitution was written and signed by drag queens.

And Susie Wiles chuckled to herself as she slipped the letter into the shredder.

Steven Beschloss@stevenbeschloss.bsky.social

A letter sent to Trump Chief of Staff Susie Wiles by several House members, incl. Ro Khanna, demanded โ€œan immediate, govt-wide investigation into the decision to restrict SpaceX's Starshield satellite-based intelligence & military support services in Ukraine.โ€ www.americaamerica.news/p/how-long-c...

This is media manipulation, subtle, but real. Downplay the bad news, puff up the not-so-bad news and normalize Trump's behavior. Those lacking critical thinking skills will not question it.

The Mouthy Renegade Writer@mouthyrenegade.bsky.social

The phrasing of posts like this frustrates the fuck out of me at times. "Bottom 60?" What a bullshit statement.

What else did Obama not do: - Encourage a violent attack on our Capital - Completely botch our response to COVID - Murder sailors in fishing boats - Terrorize Americans with ICE - Lie every time he opened his mouth - Get his name in the Epstein files

Brant Reeves@bireeves95.bsky.social

The response is realityโ€ฆ.

Under any other administration this entire subject would be scoffed at, but not under Trump. His subservience to Putin is a threat to our sovereignty and national security.

Watchdog Progressive@watchdogprg.bsky.social

Putin does want Alaska back. He has stated that the sale to the United States back in 1867 was illegal. It's geo-wealth is prized. Oil & Gas companies & mining interests have been aggressive in moving into the state. With an ally in Trump, we now see the results: www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

If there was no such thing as hypocrisy, there would be no Republican Party.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

As his policies bankrupt them, Trump-supporting farmers fully embrace socialism. But only if itโ€™s for them.

This defense is ridiculous. The media is owned by Trump-supporting oligarchs. Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post. Musk owns X. Murdoch owns FOX News and the Wall Street Journal. The media is everything BUT hostile.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Why do you think Americans tell us over & over they don't like the direction of the country? MIKE JOHNSON: Look, it's a hostile media environment. Most of the mainstream media of course is advancing the false narrative of the other side -- the Democrats & the Marxists. They're on the other team

The Democratic Party needs new leadership that is in touch with today's young members. Most important, we need leadership dedicated to getting money out of politics.

If Trump wants to invoke the Insurrection Act, he will invoke it. There is no one to stop him at this point. The DOJ and FBI belong to him. He ignores court orders. There are no checks and balances except the American people.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

โ€œNobody invokes the Insurrection Act over people walking down the street with signs. It doesn't happen.โ€ ๐Ÿ™„ Trump and his allies are *openly* floating using the Insurrection Act to seize voting machines or ballots in order to upend an election they expect to lose.

It will be tolerated until 1) Dems win the House and Senate or 2) we get up off our couches and protest in the tens of millions continuously.

Steven Beschloss@stevenbeschloss.bsky.social

This has been the case for many decades. Conservatism is based on looking back with selective memory that agrees with your bigotry and biases. It is not based on facts, and it does not help America move forward.

Dutchy Patrick@dutchiepatrick.bsky.social

Do you notice how all the Democrats are campaigning based on policies, while Republicans are only campaigning by trying to smear their opponents? But then again, what else can you do when your president has made such a mess of things over the last two yearsโ€ฆ.

Yes. Simply allowing billionaires to exist is allowing a direct threat to democracy to exist. Musk and other oligarchs are helping Trump rig the election in real time.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power. We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people. Taxing the rich isn't just an economic issue, it's a defense of our democracy.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that Trump has been wooing Maher over the years, and Maher is dumb enough to fall for for the attention. When liberals criticize him for it, he lashes out with childish taunts. He is a lost soul.

Joe Walsh@walshfreedom.bsky.social

When I was on Bill Maherโ€™s show back in the day, heโ€™d call me a crazy Tea Party guy. With disdain. Now look what Maher has become - an authoritarian-embracing MAGA apologist. If you told me back in 2016, that Iโ€™d become a NeverTrumper, and Maher would become a Trump bootlicker, Iโ€™d of said no way.

Anyone who believes billionaires got where they are because they're "super smart" is super dumb. They got where they are because they are ruthless, have no empathy or integrity and will squash anyone who gets in their way. They are super evil, not super smart.

I went to the No Kings protest in a town of 10,000 near my home. The crowd was about the same size as the previous protest, but what I found encouraging was the overwhelming support from passing cars. After an hour-and-a-half, there were only two or three MAGA reactions, the rest all supportive.

darren32359.bsky.social@darren32359.bsky.social

Trump pardoned the criminals who stormed our Capital, attacked police officers and damaged the building. He cares nothing about justice. only scoring political points with his low IQ cult.

Everett@oddswithgop.bsky.social

I donโ€™t think trump has ever told the truth.

One more reason why we shouldn't allow billionaires to exist. No person should have the power to keep the truth from the rest of us. It will backfire.

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

It seems Elon is successfully squashing the @alexgibneyfilm documentary about him. We can confirm showtimes in the Nashville area have disappeared. www.showbiz411.com/2026/10/23/c...

No human being should have so much money, power and influence. Billionaires are de facto rulers, buying politicians, influencing legislation and in some ways controlling economies. They own the media and many vital industries. This is bad for humanity.

Lea Zengage@leazengage.bsky.social

This will be a story for 48 hours and then disappear like all of the other treasonous activity in this administration. Maybe, just maybe, we should do something about it.

Miaganga@miaganga.bsky.social

The midterm election is going to be chaos, and Trump thrives on chaos.

As a result of our under-reaction to the oligarch takeover of America, the media will be horrible for future generations unless a Dem president has the guts to break up the near monopoly of right-wing owned media conglomerates.

Lawrence Graham@lawrencegraham.bsky.social

Democrats need to immediately revitalize antitrust law, and they need to restrict ownership of American media companies. And the next Democratic administration needs to void Musk's naturalization as an American citizen and immediately declare him persona non grata.

I read the article and it's so typical of how our media is treating the worst president in history as someone simply suffering under attacks from Democrats. His crimes are numerous and the facts of his criminality are out there, yet it's all carefully worded to not expose his criminality.

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ whoopsy atlantablackstar.com/2026/10/21/a...

We should be doing what other countries do when freedom and democracy are at risk, taking to the streets in the millions with ongoing protests, taking over Washington, D.C. We are allowing this country to be ruled and destroyed by fascists while we sit and watch.

Soโ€ฆ๐Ÿ‘‡ What are we going to do about it? We knew this was coming, didnโ€™t we?! Enjoy. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโœจ

Those few with the most money have the most power, which allows them to buy politicians who write legislation to help the oligarchs who finance their campaigns. It's a vicious circle that can only be stopped by getting money out of politics. We have to do this.

Xela Hart@xelahart.bsky.social

When you turn to the dark side, this is what you can expect.

An explosive phone leak released by Eric Deters alleges that Kimberly Guilfoyle cleared her debts by taking $3M in bribes, doing drugs, and casually leaking secrets to China. It wouldโ€™ve been a wild historic side hustle had she actually pulled it all off.

The American people are grossly under-reacting to the situation we are in. We are letting Trump destroy Washington, D.C., alienate our allies, start wars nobody wants, partner with Putin against Ukraine, terrorize Americans with ICE, etc. Even if we win big in the midterms our problems are not over.

Rex Huppke@rexhuppke.bsky.social

The fact that Americans struggling with brutal food and gas prices haven't already picked up pitchforks and torches over this dude's LOOK AT MY GLORIOUS NEW CUSHIONS AND HELIPAD!" rambling is remarkable.

It used to be the media's job to expose crooked politicians who lied and cheated. Our job, as supposedly informed voters, was to not elect them to office. This is no longer how it works in America. Money has perverted democracy.

4fuxake@blueheartedly1.bsky.social

American should be the second ๐Ÿ‘‡

The GOP has spent decades blaming innocent people and institutions for America's problems - immigrants, higher education, minorities, liberals, Hollywood - and not those actually to blame - billionaires, large corporations and bought-off politicians.

Sorry Ivory League JD, but youโ€™re going to wait again for your first debate win. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Ž

She wouldn't let him put his slobbering lips on her face. I have no sympathy at all for Melania, but she does hate his guts.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

again -- every single moment Trump is out in public these days is an SNL cold open come to life

There is no such thing as neutral or balanced news, there is only the truth. Denying or countering the truth for any reason is taking a stand against it, which is a political stand.
