Whelp, glad I moved my stop to profit before closing the charts last night. Was up $500 when I last looked at it… Tempted to tag the image as graphic content!

We ventured out to Costco this weekend. By far the busiest place we’ve been all year. Nugget did fantastically despite a ton of people actively trying to distract her. A friendly reminder to everyone: if you see a #ServiceDog in public, please don’t try to get their attention.

So glad Trump and his team remain focused on lowering the cost of living for everyday Americans, rather than pushing radical ideologies or anything like that.

Just wondering how all those Gen Z protest voters are feeling right about now. I’ve never been able to fathom how anyone ever thought Trump gave two shits about the people of Gaza. (And no, I don’t think it’s going to happen. But once again the God King shows his voters what he actually thinks.)

Fellow NSA - National Security Agency veterans. Look at what’s happened at the National Cryptologic Museum. They covered up with brown paper the photos of Women in American Cryptology. All in response to President Trump’s anti-diversity executive order.

Was just clearing out my folders when I found a screenshot of the time I'm pretty sure I gave #ChatGPT a stroke. What's amazing is that despite the incoherent ramblings of a mad mind, the script it wrote worked perfectly the first time. Go figure!

Thought I'd throw together a little price tracker for groceries. Let's see how well #trump keeps his promise of lowering grocery prices... I gotta say, so far I'm not impressed with the 15-20% price INCREASE.

Because *of course* a Boomer in Pennsylvania is going to fuck this all up for everyone. This is why you never go through Pennsylvania. #DenyDefendDepose

Apparently there are people out there that think listening to an audiobook doesn't "count" as reading the book... what?? First, why does it matter how people choose to read? Second, why in the world would that not count? The only difference is audiobooks you can read while driving or showering.

Gods, US health insurance is such a crock of shit. Our family plan was just "updated" to go from ~$25-$50 copays for pretty much everything, to no copays but a $3,300 annual deductible. So now we'll be paying some $800/mo for insurance that basically isn't going to do anything.

Yea, if something catastrophic happens we'll hit that $3.3k and get coverage. But we'd have had that coverage anyway on the old plan. Now, we'll just be throwing $10k/yr into the void and then pay out of pocket for every sick visit on top of that. Fantastic.

What my friends think I do all day: Sit at a glowing green terminal clacking away on my keyboard frenetically to keep Russian and Chinese hackers out of our electric grid. What I really did today: Stared at a 10,000 line spreadsheet for 8 hours updating the links to various internal documents.

Nugget was doing a real hard snooze in my lap last night. Service dog life is exhausting when your handler insists he knows better, even though he knows the nose is never wrong.

Pretty much the only good thing about being an adult is having the freedom to decide on any given day that you’re just going to buy a pumpkin pie and make that your meals for the day. And nobody can tell you no.

Sitting at a red light in Lexington I saw a broccoli-haired teenage male get out of his Porsche(!) in front of me, run up to the Prius with Harris '24 stickers in front of him, and start yelling "MAGA! MAGA!" at the 60-something black lady who was minding her own business waiting for the light.

In true MAGA style, he was a complete coward and jumped back in his car and made a hasty right turn the moment I got out of my car. This is in Massachusetts... one of the bluest states in the country. I don't even want to imagine what people are going through in other parts of the country.

Ah, the Steam Summer Sale... that time of the year when I spend $50 on a bunch of deeply discounted games in vain hope that sometime in the next 12 months I'll miraculously have the free time to play even one of them.

I’ve always understood the concept of the #disability tax, but it never felt as real as when trying to get my CARDIAC ALERT dog into Hawaii. Cost for my wife: airfare. Cost for me: airfare + $150 vet wellness certificate + $100 blood draw + $180 rabies test ($250 for expedited) + …

So that’s $430 from above + another $150 vet appointment for them to apply tick meds + $85 direct airport release fee (I think? We haven’t been able to get an answer on this out of anyone). Just to keep myself safe in HI I need to spend an extra $550-ish and far more hours than I care to count.

Nugget's first genuine cardiac alert. She noticed my heart rate starting to spike randomly and growled at me until I sat down in a safe place. She then followed through by laying on my chest to put pressure on my vagus nerve and licked my face to help relieve any associated anxiety. #servicedog

You can clearly see where she intervened and the impact she was able to have. Without her, my heart rate would have continued to climb to ~180-200 BPM and could have put me flat on my ass by the time I noticed. Sometimes what dogs can do seems like magic.

Alright, I’ve only played a few minutes of it, but so far Marvel’s Midnight Suns is pretty fun. I’m enjoying the mix of deck building and tactical combat.

When you feel like you’re being watched, and turn around to see your cardiac alert loaf staring at you like this, you get to play the game “am I about to pass out or does she just love me?” (Answer: she is the goodest girl and just loves me. Dogs are the best.)

One of the joys of #TTRPG is spending 15 minutes setting up an elaborate farce of a magic trick, forcing the other PCs into ridiculous acts (even though they know its BS but have no other option but to play along), simply for the payoff of a single punchline.

Really, the only option for a first post on bsky is a dog picture. Nothing else will do. Nugget found herself being eaten by the couch and was somewhat alarmed...

You are up to date.
