Jonathan Fielding

I wrote my first blog post of the year about an open source package I released last year but didn't really talk about much, `zodified-config` a package that enables typed application configuration with #zod in @typescriptlang.org jonthanfielding.medium.com/typesafe-val... #tutorial #typescript

This next week I’ll be adding a new country to my list of countries I have given talks in by talking at meet.js in Warsaw 🙂🙂🙂

So last year I wrote a #GoogleChrome extension to allow you to control #DisneyPlus while watching the #TaylorSwift #ErasTour, within a month it broke as they switched their streaming to use HLS. Today I submitted the fixed version to Google, and the extension has a new look to

Just rewatching my favourite movie from my teen years of #AntiTrust and realised that the main bad guy isn't a representation of Bill Gates, its a foreshadowing of Elon Musk, and Synapse is Starlink 🤯

When I got my first 4K TV, a second-gen set, I instantly got the 4K plan for @netflix.com to make the most of it, even with just 8 shows in 4K. Today I downgraded to the standard plan, I am tired of price hikes, and with my shows split across so many services, it’s just not worth it anymore.

2 days until #LWSJan2025 featuring @ppkoch.bsky.social & @jonathanfield.ing Get your free tickets now and see you Wednesday: londonwebstandards.org/events/lwsja...

So my eldest childs school has banned mobile phones so I bought them a MP3 Player so they can still listen to music. Turns out getting music to put on an MP3 Player in 2025 is bloody hard, spent all evening trying to figure it out.

We shall be announcing our next speaker for #SotB2025 at #LWSJan2025 which features @ppkoch.bsky.social & @jonathanfield.ing Tickets are free, get yours here: londonwebstandards.org/events/lwsja...

Tickets for #LWSJan2025 are now available. Featuring @ppkoch.bsky.social & @jonathanfield.ing londonwebstandards.org/events/lwsja...

For the first time my social handle doesn't have a typo, its now @jonathanfield.ing, (I did actually register the typo version and then my wife told me I should just use it without typo since I only have the typo due to twitter handle length limitations)

I’ve attended #codebar as a coach, helped organise an event with them without knowing a bunch of this history from @kimberleycook.bsky.social’s amazing #ffconf talk, 😮😮😮

So @bell.bz clearly is awesome at writing website copy for examples #ffconf

I always love @tink.bsky.social’s talks so super excited to hear this talk at @ffconf.org #ffconf

At #ffconf this morning, looking forward to another great conference

I am finally heading home after a crazy could of days attending and then speaking at @leaddev.bsky.social, I’m exhausted mentally however it was an amazing experience to share neurodiversity with so many people in #berlin

This afternoon I am speaking at @leaddev.bsky.social about #Neurodiversity, focusing on how leaders can support their neurodivergent colleagues, I am super excited and honoured to be speaking on a stage where I’ve already seen so many amazing talks throughout this conference

Today I am at @leaddev.bsky.social in Berlin and so far it’s an amazing conference, if your here I would love to say hello

Slowly getting things setup over here on bluesky, who in tech is on here I should be following

I tried to restore a really old photo of me and @TelepathicMoose that I really love with AI and so far my attempts have resulted in my skin being unrealistically smooth and she lost all her cute freckles

So I decided to listen to listen to music on YouTube, ended up with a background video of the best @PitchPerfect songs, and now my brain is like 'you should watch all 3 films again', Also they need to make a 4th one

So I joined that #bluesky thing, https://t.co/OVA2Dw1mRP

So my old laptop case broke so armed with a hair dryer I moved all stickers across to a new case, I realised when I line up all my @ffconf stickers I have 7 normal ones and one bonus hexagon one https://t.co/CG5crUfMtW

Fixed a few bugs on my revamped site https://t.co/Uo8EoMxGTO including the images which reduced the file size from 6Mb to 300Kb

I have a problem, I started watching #OnePieceNetflix and my son has already read most of the Manga so is itching to tell me spoilers, I need to find ways to avoid him doing this (he is awful at spoiling things)

and the speaking page too (which tbh I thought might have issues due to images) https://t.co/i3GCgZZsui

It's not 100% finished yet but I decided #YOLO and launched the new version of my site https://t.co/rnKEBOvDCY, it does have all 100s on perf to the homepage tho https://t.co/TtnIbhA9Ek

Just a reminder for myself, take responsibility for videos of my talks as they happen, as they will unexpectantly disappear off internet to never be found again 😭

So to be able to update my blog I’m having to migrate all my blog posts to @Medium and add in redirects, super tedious but better than losing all my content I suppose

Finally getting round to redoing my personal website, does anyone know of any good personal websites I can use for inspiration

Super excited to attend this year 😃. The talks look great, So the important question is who else is going to #ffconf 2023? https://t.co/tuW5nb4271

#TheWitcher triggers Siri on #iOS17 😂😂😂

Any other parents out their spend all the time taking the family photos and then find your in barely any of them

You know that feeling when you get some amazing news but not allowed to share it, that's what my day has been like today

Love this, and it just reminds folk that no one can know everything to do a great job https://t.co/BbNM1Os4l8

At the weekend I posted about the hidden power of junior engineers on @medium https://t.co/gfY7ymBEup This is a topic I care deeply about and today I had the fun task of designing a new code pairing exercise for hiring from @makersacademy at @Spendesk

I finally finished this blog post that has been hanging around in my drafts for months, check it out. https://t.co/ZkXX5X7LeX

I just published my latest post “The Hidden Power of Junior Engineers in a Software Engineering Team” on @Medium https://t.co/RmFdpoq0kh

Last night I dreamt I went to @ffconf and @rem introduced the conference by playing @BeatSaber and then when it came to ice cream break the ice cream was being enrobed in pink chocolate and @rem made a dad joke about it being containerised 😂😂😂

Benefit of working for a company like @Spendesk is you get a company card for expenses, downside of being forgetful, I forget to request funds on my card ahead of a big expense

Ticket acquired @ffconf https://t.co/pLCXKEEJWZ

5 mins till tickets go on sale to @ffconf, im ready :D

While I am super passionate about wanting to talk about neurodiversity at @ffconf I have decided to submit a backup (more technical) CFP on something else I am passionate about, Architectural North ⭐️'s

I just published my latest post “The Web Unscripted: A World Without JavaScript” on @Medium https://t.co/1YSJtsbiIA

I just published my latest post “Unraveling the Tapestry of Tech Job Titles” on @Medium https://t.co/SfrW1tCyU3

So within 20 mins of the CFP for @ffconf opening I sent in my talk on #Neurodiversity in tech, now crossing all the fingers and toes

Sometimes I have to stop myself from replying to replies on Twitter because its sometimes not worth the effort

I just published my latest post “Comparing 5 JavaScript Bundling Tools: Webpack, TurboPack, Parcel, Rollup, and esbuild” on @Medium https://t.co/6oH59XWUP5

Here we go again https://t.co/7mIC7n2CgK

Today I visited @howlettspark and seeing the electric fences it got me thinking how much energy do they use So the electricity is going round a circuit however unless something touches them then the only energy used is that lost due to the resistance of the wire leading to some…

Two bank holiday weekends in a row, I could get used to this 😅, I have been using some of the time to think about what I am going to blog about over next few months however I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on what they would like me to write about?
