No. Not that Captain Marvel (not that there's anything wrong with that one), the other one.

Poor dupes of Adobe tools and games are getting "ported" to all new platforms by people using "AI" to do the reverse engineering. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg for the near future. You won't have an original service, game, or piece of software that won't be duplicated within days.

Someone on another forum said it better, "Increasingly I feel like software development is experiencing its version of the grey goo scenario, where vibe-coded crap floods the space to the point where legitimate development (even AI-assisted projects!) get forced out because they can’t stay afloat."

BTW, for anybody who needs to hear it, I used to use 1Password many years ago. I quit because I started to feel like a piggy bank for them. So if you'd like to leave for other reasons (*cough* contributions to DHH projects), Bitwarden is pretty great and works pretty much everywhere.

Finally! My first Postcrossing postcard made it to its destination in Germany. I’m so glad, it has been around three weeks but none of my first three cards had been delivered. Now I’m ready to do a new one that is headed to the Czech Republic.

Please stop asking LLMs questions where you don't know the answer. At least not without asking it a few questions where you do. Only when you see it get some questions clearly wrong will you start weighing the answers you can't evaluate appropriately.

Attended the 30th Souper Bowl here in Santa Fe today. No idea how many people (many many) giving to charity to help with food insecurity and trying amazing soups from local restaurants. So many lovely people everywhere and hopefully a lot of money raised for a good cause.

Last week we learned that Ollie cannot play in the NFL but since then we’ve learned that he is considered too old at three to participate in the Puppy Bowl either. On top of that the Puppy Bowl has already been recorded!!! Scandal! I’m not even sure we can trust the score of dog football at all.

We have been informed that despite what you may have learned from Air Bud, the NFL does actually have rules that prevent dogs from playing football. Also, it does not appear that the Seahawks need an adorable Spaniel to beat San Francisco.

Years ago, I wanted to print some paper out but did not like all of the "download this wonky PDF" solutions I found. Many printed poorly and supported one or two papers at most. So I created PaperQuik.com to give people a way to make many variations on a few papers.

But it wasn't capable of doing that kind of formatting and needed a complete overhaul to even attempt that. Plus all of the paper creation, etc. But I've done a lot of that overhaul. Right now it's just capable of putting multiple pages within a single print page, but there's more to come.

Now, I'm not goofy. I went and tried my hand at bookbinding to make a custom book from some pages. No one is going to do that but me. But what if you could get a PDF out and send it to Blurb or Lulu to get something cool and custom? Or if I do it for you and just dropship you your custom planner?

I came back to it again a few years ago and rewrote it to use SVG for everything and the paper quality got better, but it still wasn't what I really wanted. I would love to have an engine capable of printing an entire planner like you would buy from Hobonichi, Midori, TRAVELER'S COMPANY, etc.

Many people know that if you mix ammonia and chlorine bleach it forms a deadly gas. But not everybody knows that if you make a sandwich and use both mayo and Miracle Whip, the same thing happens.

I work all day every day in AI. I like it, it's interesting, and we're working to build something that will do something helpful. However, I am 100% realistic about how good AI really is and so is this truly excellent article about AI + coding: mikelovesrobots.substack.com/p/wheres-the...

mikelovesrobots.substack.comWhere's the Shovelware? Why AI Coding Claims Don't Add Up78% of developers claim AI makes them more productive. 14% say it's a 10x improvement. So where's the flood of new software? Turns out those productivity claims are bullshit.

Extrajudicial execution of alleged drug traffickers, invasion of Chicago, moving a Space Force that doesn't do shit to another state. All important stuff that points to why we must release all of the Epstein files.

Mark My Words: Very few foreigners will fly into, stay in, or attend matches in the US during World Cup 2026 I don't know if you'll see empty seats, but actual non-native attendees in the stadiums will be a fraction of what they are in Mexico or Canada.

I’m hoping that the US makes it through the next few years without going the way of the Roman Empire (no guarantees). But, shouldn’t we start working on a Project 2029 plan just in case? Some checklist of what to do to undo four years of damage?

I want the United States to be a force for good throughout the world, to set examples, and to help other countries. But apparently our only role now is to be a cautionary tale and keep others from electing their own right wing pseudo Nazis. So... you're welcome?

We had very little money when I was a kid, so the library was everything. Magic books were priority one, but I also really liked Ed Emberley's drawing books. He had several books like this one which were about drawing lots of stuff super simply. I saw one at the resale shop the other day.

I'm going to say some bad words now. So you might want to not read this... No Kristi Noem, you stupid piece of shit, I do not congratulate your moron boss (or you) for anything. He is a pathetic embarrassment in need of commercials to stroke his ego. Please die soon. Preferably in a fire.

Something has been nagging at me for a while. I'll take the hit for being a bitch and saying it. Artists get frustrated about AI invading art, but software writers face the exact same. Loads would love to replace us entirely, but no one gives a damn.

You are up to date.
