Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans dropped $200M on mid-decade gerrymandering expecting a guaranteed House majority. His plan fell flat on its face. I sat down with CNN yesterday to break down how AG @ericholder.bsky.social and the NDRC helped us get to this point.

Ending partisan gerrymandering nationwide is our ultimate goal. Full stop. But letting Republicans gerrymander the South without a Democratic response only moves us further from that ultimate goal.

As soon as the midterms end, Republicans plan to rush through new 2028 gerrymanders in lame-duck sessions. We'll fight back, but ending this redistricting whack-a-mole for good requires a national ban on partisan gerrymandering. Read more here: bit.ly/4iymFRx

democracydocket.comTrump’s gerrymandering grab failed. But the war for democracy isn’t overPresident Donald Trump and Republicans planned to steal more than 21 congressional seats through mid-decade redistricting. They failed — for now.

Mid-decade gerrymanders turned maps into a political weapon this cycle. We avoided a worst-case scenario this time, but case-by-case lawsuits aren’t a permanent fix. We need a national ban with a clear, measurable fairness standard to take that weapon off the table for good.

The fallout from Trump’s rigged maps will hang over our elections until we pass a national ban on partisan gerrymandering. Step #1: take back the House and Senate this November.

When you spend your days tweeting and serving foreign interests, there’s little time left to work for the American people. It’s no surprise Trump thinks his only path to victory is to cheat.

Early in his second term, Donald Trump’s ego was so inflated (even by his own standards) that he thought he could get away with anything, including rigging the midterms with gerrymandered maps. Under AG @ericholder.bsky.social's leadership, we mobilized and gave him a reality check.

On the latest episode of Drawing the Line, Marina and I sat down with Texas State Rep. and gubernatorial candidate @ginafortexas.bsky.social to talk about why Texans are ready for something different and what the next governor means for redistricting. Full episode: youtu.be/QD1KhGLlF_I

youtu.beGina Hinojosa’s Fight to Flip Texas | Rep. Gina HinojosaTexas hasn’t elected a Democratic governor in decades. Gina Hinojosa wants to change that. On this episode of Drawing the Line, Marina Jenkins & John Bisognano sit down with Texas State…

If Republicans in Texas and Georgia lose this November, you can bet the lame-duck legislatures will try to pass even more extreme gerrymanders for 2028. We need a national ban on partisan gerrymandering to end this endless cycle of rigged maps.

It's Oct 14th: - 20 days until Election Day - Early voting is happening across the country - Some voters are casting their ballots under brand-new maps and might not even know it This confusion isn't a coincidence. MAGA wants chaos because it helps them win. We can’t let that happen.

Rough week for the lawmakers who caved to Trump and gerrymandered maps just because he asked. You spent a year redrawing maps that sell out your own voters, and now even conservative outlets are saying you did it for nothing. bit.ly/4yE8Lnn

bit.lyGOP stomachs reality that redistricting math may not save them in midtermsLast year, when top GOP operatives brainstormed ways to defy historical trends pointing to a blue wave and hold onto the House, one of their top strategic bets was redistricting.

Sometimes the headlines don’t tell the full story … Trump’s attempt to gerrymander a midterm win for Republicans is set to go down as yet another of his embarrassing failures. But it didn’t look like that would be the case a year ago (or even a couple of months ago). 1/

While MAGA pours money into defending seats they drew for themselves, there is a clear contrast between the GOP redraws and the Dems' responsive maps: ✔️ California's voter-approved map is set to flip three seats with little spending needed ✔️ A court-ordered map in Utah is expected to net a Dem seat

With just 28 days to go until the midterms, we need to focus on what comes after Election Day. Ending Trump's redistricting arms race has got to be one of our top priorities.

It's Oct 5th. - 29 days until Election Day - Early voting has started or is starting in many states - After a year of gerrymandering, Republicans are still sowing chaos into our electoral process Know your rights, stay informed, and make a plan to vote: iwillvote.com

I’m a little worried Republicans are going to start charging us rent for the sq footage of their brains we occupy. “Continuing the ‘Mean Girls’ analogy, we’d say Republicans ‘spent about 80 percent of their time talking about Eric Holder...” rollcall.com/2026/09/30/m...

rollcall.comHow is ‘Mean Girls’ like gerrymandering? Ask these former Hill staffersOn the surface, it wouldn’t seem like an early-aughts teen comedy has much in common with the drawing of congressional maps.  Don’t tell that to Rory Riley Topping and Josh Rultenberg, who spend a…

“Nightmare” implies this was an uncontrollable event. GOP knew what they were doing was extremely unpopular, & yet they pushed forward. The people of Missouri did not stand for it. It’s like calling it a “nightmare” when you get arrested for stealing. www.washingtonsun.com/campaigns/mi...

washingtonsun.comMissouri Is a Nightmare Come True for Redistricting OpponentsBecause of legal battles over district lines, some of the state’s voters will cast a ballot in a different district in November than they did in the primary.

Missouri Republicans ignored court orders to toss their gerrymander, leaving voters in the dark about which district they'll vote in just weeks before Election Day. For the third time, SCOTUS ordered lawmakers to use the 2022 map. Sham lawsuits and defying courts are the new norm for Republicans.

Genuine question: what's the most absurdly shaped district in your state? Every state has one. The one that reaches across three counties to grab a single neighborhood. The one held together by a highway median. Drop yours below.

Has anyone told strong President Trump that his long loved Yankees are in the playoffs against their horrible rival Red Sox, and they are playing at Yankee Stadium!! He needs to be there to show his love for the Yankees, and it would be super alpha to be there! All games pls.

Imagine being a leading GOP voter and being told via millions of bucks in TV ads that to save Trump you need to vote because ACTUALLY the economy is great despite their entire lived experience at the gas station, grocery store, literally everywhere…

Less than 40 days out from Election Day. Everyone watches the top of the ballot. But the offices that decide what your maps look like for the next decade are further down: State supreme courts Secretaries of state State legislatures Vote the whole ballot. That’s how we fight gerrymandering.

🚨BREAKING🚨: With a MAJOR Friday night win at SCOTUS for our team, we FINALLY have a final Congressional Map. 39 days from Election Day — & it will continue to include a district for Kansas City! Congrats to everyone in MO, especially those that have carried this for so long.

It’s one thing for Trump and the to sell us all out to China and Big Tech… AND THEN THERE IS HAVING A BLACK TIE STATE DINNER WITH PRESIDENT XI OF CHINA AND CEOS OF EVERY TECH COMPANY AT THE WHITE HOUSE. This country needs an election so badly.

Trump sold us out. He sold us out to China on this trip. He sold us out to Big Tech. All for more family money and GOP campaign cash to fund ads across the country to try to save their sinking races. Every GOP ad should serve as a reminder that we were all the price he paid.

Just before midnight, we, in support of People Not Politicians, filed a THIRD stay request in under a month w/ SCOTUS regarding the Missouri maps. This is an insane play by the 8th cir to keep throwing food against the wall. SCOTUS granted the first two. They should do so again.

Hi 👋, It’s Sept 21st. We still don’t know the final national congressional map for the election on *checks notes* Nov 3rd. An insane ruling out of the 8th circuit, again renders the MO map unsettled. It will be appealed, again, again to SCOTUS… www.kmbc.com/article/miss...

kmbc.com8th Circuit rules Missouri must use 2025 congressional map in November electionThe 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Missouri must use its 2025 congressional map in November, but stayed its order through Sept. 28 for Supreme Court review.

🚨BREAKING🚨: SCOTUS (AGAIN) steps in to mandate that Missouri use its 2022 map and (AGAIN) clarify that the MO Supreme Court has a role here… this is great! And (AGAIN) it’s deeply crazy that it took this much.

Today is Sept 9th. - 55 days until Election Day - Every state primary election has passed - Ballots are being printed in many states AND we still don’t know for sure what the national congressional map lines will be thanks to rogue officials in Missouri NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL.
