Here are some nice details from the HRL Laboratories #blender3d render for the @nature_the_journal cover. The highlighted pathways show how control signals run through the #Quantum Processing Unit (#QPU) across 4K (red/orange) to mK (purple/blue) // #spinqubits // Volume 655 Issue 8125, 30 July 2026

So amazing to have our work at HRL on the cover of #Nature. Thank you @nature.com! This #visualization is built with #blender3d for the rendering and creativesuite for the #spinqubit exchange line work. // Volume 655 Issue 8125, 30 July 2026 || A digitally controlled silicon #quantum processing unit

So proud to have contributed some of the figures to this paper… it’s a really incredible achievement in spin #qubit #cryo control + #quantum #physics by the team at HRL Laboratories 🫶. The paper was just posted to arXiv: A digitally controlled silicon quantum processing unit (2604.16216)

#blender rendering of #molecules for a #quantum corrosion simulation by Thomas Watts, Matthew Otten, Adam Holmes et al. (Quantum computing for corrosion simulation: workflow and resource analysis). VESTA -> STL -> Blender, though I hear he and Luke Quezada have a way to work w the raw data now.

New #geometrynode #dandelion studies in #Blender3d I came across a pretty amazing #Nature paper working on this: A separated #vortexring underlies the #flightofthedandelion. Nature volume 562 (2018). There’s a really nice figure looking at the way the #geometry relates to the seed movement.

#dendritic #study that didn’t quite do what I wanted and turned out way cooler // #processing4 —> #csv —> #blender —> #geometrynodes —> #shaders // #creativecoding #generativeart #blender3d // #nature #patternsinnature #diffusionlimitedaggregation

A bunch of colleagues are at the #Silicon #Quantum #Electronics #Workshop #SiQEW2025 this week at #Terranea — organized by #HRLLaboratories and #UCLA // So cool to get to work on projects like this #spin exchange #visualization (with Thaddeus and the team at #HRL) // siqew2025.com

I’ve been experimenting with translating this #2D #diffusionlimitedaggregation system to 3D, but the effect changes… which is interesting — and I think what you see in #nature with #dendritic #systems. #Circling back to the 2D #algorithm // hue = #particle size // #processing #code #creativecoding

#forms w #diffusionlimitedaggregation via a few #walker / #particle sources that move around // #creativecoding #generativeart #generativeartist // #madewithprocessing #processing #madewithblender #blender #blendercommunity // #happymothersday ❤️

First pass at converting #2D #diffusionlimitedaggregation #code in #processing, to #3d via a 40k #pointcloud, importing it into #blender via #python + #geometrynodes // if you’re into this, check out the #artwork of Andy Lomas // #creativecoding // #madewithprocessing #madewithblender #blender

Incredibly proud to have contributed #scientific #visualization s to this paper by Sieu Ha et al. at HRL Laboratories (#arxiv 2502.08861 #quantumphysics). An incredibly talented group of researchers that I'm lucky to work with #spinqubits #quantum #physics #datavisualization #scientificillustration

This is about a minute of our #tuxedo #cat helping me test out a #p5js sketch for #USC #IML404 // this is a #computervision #algorithm #opticalflow // will post a link to the code when it’s cleaned up // first class is this week — looking fwd to it

You are up to date.
