It's become clear that intelligence is an evolutionary cul-de-sac. I'm dumbing down as fast as I can. I'm already halfway there. Survival of the thickest. Thanks for your help in this matter.

It is also conveniently forgotten that it was a non-binding referendum, if it was anything else it would have been deemed unlawful due to leave cheating. Our democracy was held hostage by the billionaire press barons. I’m European first and foremost and I want my freedom and identity back.

This is just the maddest argument. These people would trap us in poverty to keep a decade old commitment, which no one ever actually made, to an electorate which no longer exists.

Britons should use money we haven't got to buy food the country doesn't grow, store it in homes that don't exist, in spare rooms that got taxed away, so we can survive when reservoirs nobody built run dry because of a climate the govt won't protect. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Approving the Jackdaw gas field solves none of our problems, while contributing to the existential crisis of climate breakdown. The government has privileged special interests above the general interest. It's a shameful, cowardly decision.

There’s too much caution about calling Farage and Reform racist. They have no such timidity when they threaten to strip us of our rights and protections, to mass deport people and kill them at sea. They routinely insult, perv, vilify and hate people. You don’t ‘nice’ that away. You call it out.

Putin has not funded disruption and chaos across Europe and the UK solely to weaken his enemies. He also knows that disruption and chaos favour the far right. And the far right loves Putin. It will abandon Ukraine and build him a highway into Europe.

Okay, so Reform is now actively advocating for the armed forces to murder unarmed civilians as official policy. At what point does the media at large stop treating these people as anything but fascistic far right thugs who under any normal functioning system would be condemned as extremists.

Good. Now arrest those who were with him for conspiracy, and then arrest those who tried to set fire to a hotel for arson. And then proscribe the group as a terrorist organisation. Which is what you are if you use violence for political ends. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

£72 million from 2 individuals - both of whom have faced questions about money laundering, both of whom live/d overseas to avoid tax - is not compatible with democracy. I don't care if it's Reform, Labour or whoever. We can't function like this. Not for long. So how do we fix it? My plan:

It's funny those men in black have been labelled thugs. That's a word of Hindi origins, that migrated from India in the days of empire. Some of them might live in bungalows, use shampoo, sleep in cotton sheets on a mattress. And I expect, they think these things are English.

Reform say they'll force school children to sing hymns. Only 5% of Britons go to church. So what we have here is a religious minority forcing their wishes on the majority, and refusing to integrate with Britain's culture. They should go and live somewhere else. According to Reform.

There needs to be more urgency from the police to investigate + prosecute this clear incitement to xenophobic violence against asylum seekers, the platform + the online regulator Ofcom & ministers to cut off & prevent this malicious & unlawful content inews.co.uk/news/vigilan...

If I were Andy Burnham I too would consider banning disposable barbecues. Or I might think about considering it. Or at least think about thinking about considering banning them. Because the climate change issue is important and urgent. Yeah, think long and hard. That'll sort it.

Our baked soil can't soak up water easily. Unless autumn brings weeks of gentle rain, floods are next. A decent storm will bring devastation. Yeah, being able to cancel subscriptions is alright. Cancel cold calling too, like the French have. But don't mention climate. We'll just blame nature.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to be… The tragic truth is that, as some of us warned a decade ago, mainstream climate science has turned out to be the opposite of alarmist. It has turned out to be complacent and over-optimistic. Truthfulness - and strategic adaptation - are urgent. (Pse repost.)

A first year above 2C in the mid-2030s now looks plausible. 0.5C was first passed in 1980, 1.0C in 2010 and 1.5C in 2024. The 15-year trend runs at 0.42C per decade. The 2026 and 2027 points for the current El Nino are estimates. We're not remotely ready!

So, the EU-UK reset. To discuss study and work in each others' countries for the under 30's. How about the under 40's? 50's? 30 seems so random. An arbitrary limitation. How about for the under 100's? I'd like that much better.

I honestly think banning MPs' second jobs is the single most powerful immediate thing the Govt could do to dent Reform support. It's the right thing to do. It would be a strong move (and message) in cleaning up politics. And it would shine a light on the person hit hardest: Nigel Farage.

Have to say.. as red flags go, proposing to set up concentration camps and taking a £5M personal bribe would be the top two when deciding who NOT to vote for. It is genuinely insane and extremely troubling that Farage could still be electable despite that… or even because of it. WTAF, UK?
