For two days now I've had the kind of crick in my neck that one clonazepam could knock out overnight, but unfortunately I also have an overly cautious psychiatrist and insufficient executive functioning to find one who's cool.

I've already got a contoured memory foam pillow. I think I need something like the Bisexual Chair but for side sleepers who roll over onto their back while asleep.

I'm vibe-coding a turn-based squad tactics game to learn the tools for interviewing, so I just had to explain to Claude that people generally get dressed before they go out and don't need to spend AP putting on equipment at the start of a mission.

Since I'm job-hunting, I've currently got LinkedIn alerts enabled, and I'm constantly getting notifications that Axon is hiring. It looks like they're scooping up most of the business that Flock is losing, so we're going to need another round of DeFlock for the other surveillance companies.

If the federal courts grant standing, the implication will be that US Senators represent the federal government, not the states that elect them to govern, which is a matter the Constitution is VERY clear about.

Given that every one of the private keys eMudhra was using fit in a uint8_t or unsigned char, but had no apparent pattern to them other than that, I suspect that they didn't actually do the XKCD comic, but rather something that a lot of other C-based software could be silently doing.

But (void *) isn't really a type, so the buffer is generally treated as an array of type uint8_t or unsigned char depending on context. When you printf that pointer dereferenced, %s will give you every byte until the first \0, but every scalar format specifier will just give you the first byte.

So they may have blown up an entire line of business, and could have caused far more damage, based on a single character mistake. And they were probably being more careful than most people who write similar code. How many more cases of that are out there?

If they wrote this before RDSEED, or didn't know how to use it, or didn't trust it, the best source for a CA key is /dev/random (or /dev/urandom these days), and that's typically read into a buffer referenced with a (void *) pointer.

A few months ago I tore my meniscus by cold stretching, and after a month of constantly reinjuring it I figured out that a range of motion limiting brace stopped that. The orthopedist told me it would take another 8 weeks after that to finish healing. It's been 10, and it's mostly healed.

That said, it's not entirely healed. The orthopedist warned that if I got surgery there might still be some lingering effects, so it's not worth doing on a mostly healed knee. But now my knee just occasionally hurts if I bend it too much. I'm 44 and my knee just does that now.

I wouldn't say I ever thought Vivek Ramaswamy was better than this, but I assumed Mike Rogers would have the most repugnant ad of this election cycle, so this is a bit of a surprise.

Ken Paxton would probably have had the worst if the Democratic primary had gone the other way though.

Every time the Holodeck almost destroys the Enterprise, it's because they vibe-coded something without code review and gave it too many privileges.

Spouse does not do 3 hour movies. Should I go see You Can See Everything in theater by myself, or wait for it to come out on streaming?

My nearby grocery store got ransomwared so hard that I've joined the Costco cult. Anyone want 18 of something?

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

This is a very severe case of ME/CFS, but even a mild case will ruin much of your life. Of all the long COVID symptoms, ME/CFS has the worst quality of life impact, and some of the others require organ transplants to treat.

I'm just going to ignore any claims that AI is conscious that use a definition of consciousness that predates EEG and fMRI research, because they're simply not using the word the same way we mean it when we talk about consciousness in humans.

A guy named "Palmer Luckey" should be getting kicked out of casinos, not running a company that's working on building Terminator.

FWIW I have mocked enough antivax posts that Facebook thinks I'm interested and shows them to me regularly, and they have completely stopped for the past few days. I'm pretty sure a lot of the posters were domestic, but Yandex says their payment systems are offline.

Apparently when a bus diverts from its usual route, the MBTA tracker considers it to not exist, so it'll tell you the next bus is in 1 minute, then 59 minutes, and if you wait long enough, 2 minutes.

I just saw provax engagement farming on one of the other hellsites, and I'm legitimately unsure if that's a good sign or a bad sign.

I love getting unsolicited advice on interviewing from someone who hasn't had a full time job in 20 years.

How the hell are there printers with 4.3 star reviews? The best printer I've ever owned was like 3.2 stars max.

I want to see the overlap between the people on the Nobel committee who voted for Pillay this year and Machado last year, and ask them if they've learned anything over the past year.
