J. Lark, comic bird

Hiya! I'm Lark, and I make art and comics, most notably my webcomic Aww, Feathers! which is a Utah Valley college drama with a diverse cast of furry, scaly, and feathery characters! It's written to be enjoyed by all audiences and has over 250 pages and counting! Check it out at awwfeathers.com!

Company: We have updated our terms of service! 5 years ago: "Yeah, fine, whatever..." Now: *desperately searches the update for literally any mention of A.I.*

I scream! You scream! We all scream for PERFECTLY CUT INE SCREAMS!!! 🎮😱

Refined sketch for Mally's redesign. Leaning in to the shape of her beak and shorter legs to make her look more like a hummingbird and less like a stork! #art #furryArt

smh, this housing market...

A commission I got from the #Spooktacufur artist alley by Elynn Doodles! Ine's looking schnazzy!

At #Spooktacufur, and I realized I didn't have a badge! But as luck would have it, there was a badge-making panel, so I quickly drew Ine, the hitchhiking ghost lizard! Room for one more? 👻👍

So apparently the lore of #DandysWorld centers around the fact that studios will do literally anything to avoid paying their animators. "Just bring the toons to life through a dark ritual and film them! It might make them go insane, but at least we'll save some scratch!"

I think I've got the "scariest costume competition" in the bag this year!

"They finish each other's sentences," is the kind of thing people often say about couples who love and know each other so well. Neither my wife nor I like it when the other tries to finish the other's sentence. And neither of us are very good at it anyway. 😂

It's time for Mally to take the spotlight! She's smol, but fierce! #art #furryArt

"Allergy to nuance" is probably the best description I've heard to the phenomenon. And it's not just in the context of kink, but literally any aspect of life in which we disagree on something we care deeply about. But we're smart enough not to fall into that trap. youtube.com/shorts/kAxzw...

One of my favs, it's Michelle the yeenhog! Hyena's are kinda funky creatures! I gave her a longer neck and hunched stance and really paid attention to her muscles. This should help me do better at drawing her consistently buff! 💪 jlarkstories.com/blog/art/miche… #art #furryArt

Commercial: "Deals so good, it's... SCARY!! 🎃👻💀🧟🧙🧛" Me at the store: *checks price tag* AaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!! 😱

#ArtFight attack for @treebarkart.bsky.social! Callope gathers some of the bounty that the forest has to offer. Care to join her for a stroll? 🍄‍🟫😄 #furry #furryArt jlarkstories.com/blog/art/callo…

Healing through self love

One of those "haunted walkthroughs" but fantasy themed instead of horror. No jumpscares, no gore, just mystical ambiance, actors dressed like whimsical creatures, and at least one full-size animatronic dragon.

My first attack for 2026 for @jamesquacks.bsky.social! I love Edmund as a character, for his love of nature and all living creatures, his fascination with magic and transformation, his desire to be a good ruler! #furry #furryArt #artfight jlarkstories.com/blog/art/edmun…

Rocket scientist For literally no reason other than somebody told me once that rocket scientists were the smartest people in the world. And I wanted to be the smartest person in the world. 🤓 Now I just want to be smart enough to get by, and kind enough to make a difference.

Accurate. Y'all have no idea how much it means, regardless of the skill level involved. It's so awesome! 🥰 youtube.com/shorts/XW3rCdAhLtw

I need to give a shout-out to BlueKiwi101. I saw this recent piece of theirs and loved the "semi-feral" style so much that it made me want to experiment with pushing the animalistic traits of my own characters. I've loved the results so far! furaffinity.net/view/66542443/ #furry #furryart

I wonder sometimes if some people who struggle with comparing their art to others use "At least I don't cheat by using references like they do" as a defense mechanism.

The next *Aww, Feathers!* redesign is June the dolphin! I emphasized her heavier body type and made her tail stiffer and thicker. Perfect for swimming, or sporting multiple tail bags! #art #furryArt

( #KnightsOfGuinevere ep 2 spoilers) Andi: "Your speech is restricted to canned quotes." Guin 2 minutes earlier: "You're supposed to be dead. 👿" Okay then… 😧
