Cold painful take: some things are so dangerous they should be limited to ViewModifiers such as GeometryReader and its replacement onGeometryChange. Articulate the actual problem you're trying to solve, eg "I want to centre this view in the middle of the window" then make a ViewModifier for that.

If I die in a collision, I hope the relevant agency spends more on redesigning the road or the junction, than deciding who is to blame. I think every fatal collision should come with at least speed reduction on the road while they rethink how the design should be changed.
