Working on improving bomb juice now. Added rebound sound, squash on impact, and pulse that grows larger right before detonating 💣💥 will improve explosion sprites next #indiedev #indiegamedev

I finally decided on a name! Thoughts? Also I’ve actually put in some work on the UI, doing the menu and setting screens and things are feeling more like an actual game now 🙌 CRT effect or no CRT effect? #indiedev #indiegames #gamedev

Added a small recoil when shooting, so it can launch you into space if you’re not careful. Also added forward momentum to melee attacks. It’s a bit too strong right now and sends you flying across the screen, which is an interesting mechanic in itself. #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev

Removed 360° aiming and limited it to 4 directions (up, down, left, right). It was way too easy to aim and kill before. Now there’s more challenge and timing, which to me is part of the missing puzzle. So interesting how much limits change the feel of a game #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev

Added something I think is a huge vibe/aesthetic improvement that I've been searching for. Used aliasing which gives me this pixelated but soft, kind of jittery, slightly deformed/wobbly effect which to me gives it more of this retro feel. WDYT?? #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Lots of improvements to this level's environment, not sure if I've shown the lasers before but they fit well imo 🔊 Got music + SFX going too. Starting on blackhole, impulse and stun bombs now! #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev #screenshotsunday

Had a little break, recently visiting a friend in hospital, we made up a little game. We'd pick what we thought was the exact colour of a brand, then compare to see who was closest. So I built it into an actual game hexle.io Hexle Daily #1 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟥 Score: 89/100 Off by 38 #gamedev #indiegame #webdev

My players kept duplicating between games, so I ended up being able to control 1-3 player instances at the same time. Had to be careful not to kill myself at times — which made it pretty fun 😅 I think i'll add this into a 'clone' ability #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Main menu + new join lobby done. Pick your colour, ready up, and mess around in the pre-game arena while others are still joining. #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

💣💥 Bombs now bounce off of surfaces correctly, making them a lot more useful than before when they would just slide once it hits the ground #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

New art style is now in the game, I'm actually happy with it (hopefully no more style overhauls 😅) Character art still just a placeholder for now #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

I wasn’t happy with the art, so I’m going back to basics and relearning pixel art. The start of the video shows where I began — the end shows my latest progress #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Been working on a demo to get some feedback, started building some more levels. I still need to figure out what to name this game (pls help, suggestions wanted) #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Spend time today figuring how to indicate to the player how many bombs they have left and the cool down on their gun. Decided to make the crosshair more dynamic to represent this #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Stuck on the art for weeks. Settled on a high-contrast monochromatic look, inspired by Downwell. Thinking of a mechanic where deaths and explosions "paint" the B&W world, making it more colorful as you play. tips/ideas/feedback is welcome 🙏 #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Lots of game feel tweaks lately — refining movement, speed, and adding sound + particles to make everything feel more alive. ➡️ Going to switch back to focusing on the key things to get the MVP done so I can get some feedback soon. #indiegames #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Took awhile to understand how Godot handles its UI layouts but i finally UI for the scoreboard 🎉 ➡️ Next up: Working on the level design, or improving the player design #gamedev #indiedev

Removing the camera flipping effect when changing between surfaces because it felt too chaotic and confusing when the player changed surfaces many times, a static camera feels much better i think #gamedev #indiedev

✔️ - Lots of visual improvements (art probably still placeholders) - More tweaking of player controls - Currently 3 ways to die are shown here (shot, explosion, or falling into space, more to come...) ➡️ Next up: Melee attack & deflecting bombs #gamedev #indiedev
