This is why "Vote Blue, no matter who" is harmful advice... Because regardless of whom you elect, they will never represent marginalized people, especially in this era of "centrist chasing". Advocate and vote for/run as a Nonpartisan candidate who leans more left than the Democrats.

It's not just Andrews: 45 of the SC legislature's 47 Dems have an anti-trans voting record. - 11 voted for a sports ban (9 abstained) - 19 voted for a bathroom ban (6 abs.) - 30 voted for a prison GAC ban (14 abs.) - 3 voted for a youth GAC ban (6 abs.) South Carolina Dems have ALL abandoned us.

I'm going to give it until Friday after work. If I don't see anything from @erininthemorning.com about any of my state's federal candidates, by Friday Noon, then I'll go vote early. Otherwise, I'll go stand in line on Tuesday.

*grabs a beer out of the fridge, cracks it open, and pours it out* I hope you're seeking those Nuclear Wessels in Heaven, Walter... Here's to the Finest Tac/Nav Officer in Starfleet!

Who THE FUCK decided it was a good idea to put what is notoriously one of the weakest file sharing protocols directly INTO the kernel?! Server Software should be USERSPACE, NOT KERNELSPACE! BY THE IT GODS this week has been evil. What essential oils can I diffuse to make the IT Gods happy??

Once again, local coverage is king. UO playing Fwd Madison at Breese Stevens Field and WOWT-365BLK (Channel 6.6) will run the game. #VivaBuhos #OneMeansAll

In a major escalation in Dems embracing anti-trans positions, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the official campaign arm of House Democrats, released its first anti-trans ad supporting Nancy Lacore in SC-01. Transphobia is spreading among dems. Subscribe to support our journalism.

I ask because the override string the Nexus Mods app has me doing in my launch options kills the game post-launcher.

RIP Bioware. The Infinity Engine and the Aurora Engine are some of the most powerful things for their time. May Beamdog continue to bring your glory days to the masses. Go play Neverwinter Nights. Or Baldur's Gate 1.

I don't know what's worse - waking up to the knowledge of the world's top server-side scripting language having a massive hole in it... or waking up to the knowledge that the overarching corporate entity one used to work for is wearing the skin of the exact brand you used to work for...

I hate this timeline. God? Can you please move me into the timeline with the sick Neon Noir aesthetic, but ancom? Please??

Who the hell names their protagonist... Protagonist?? Do I have to take a book absolutely seriously with a protag with the surname of Protagonist?

So, I got to delving deep into the Rubysphere and I found what appears to be a neat alternative to Ruby on Rails. For all my socialist devs, take a peek at @hanakai.org and their trio of offerings.

Dunno why I feel I need to say this, but if you lock even the smallest feature behind needing a Launcher, that's still DRM. Sure, the game is playable and you might be able to use Direct Connect for multiplayer, but if the matchmaking is blocked because you installed from the offline file -

No, it's not. It's them advertising and pandering. They're not actually celebrating in the board room. Reminder: No corpos at pride.

Corporations publicly celebrating LGBT+ equality is a good thing and I am glad to see it coming back.

No one really wants cyberpunk to be real. It's already real. It's here. What people want is transhumanism and a neon noir aesthetic.

It was I who dropped the music down an octave to have it best sounding from this weird little program. It was I who interpreted beats into milliseconds. No chatbot was consulted. It was all FAFO in a good way.

Now, if you will all excuse me, there is a certain parody of Old Hundredth that needs to be sung by Hatsune Miku's uncle Klattsch.

If anyone needs further proof that Omarchy Linux is Fascist Linux, Elongated Muskrat just donated over a million dollars in Grok tokens to Omacom Foundation, which is the "non-profit" stewardship organization founded by DHH.

Open Source has been infiltrated and overrun by Fascists. We need to move to Anti-Capitalist Source-Available Licenses.

The Slopmachines have convinced each other that Bill Nye has a secret imaginary daughter named Charity and this information has been in circulation for over 10 years from a possible human error maybe confusing "Charity New Years Eve" (Charity NYE) as "Charity Nye"

Bring the NE State Fair back to a city that respects the dignity of everyone and represents what "Nebraska Nice" could actually be.

This was a hard task, but I think I have it sorted. Growing up, I'd mostly listen to Christian and Video Game music, but it wasn't until I was introduced to Japanese jazz fusion that I felt shaped by what I listened to.

In hind sight, my love of the Outrun soundtrack should have been the first indicator of what music I liked. Relient K will always have a spot on this list, as the band is rather supportive of all people. Not sure about Petra, but "The Rock Cries Out" was probably the only P&W album I ever touched.

I still think that without Japanese Jazz Fusion, we wouldn't get a lot of the music we have in a lot of our games today. It's fun and mellow. How about you? What's your favorite genre of music that's not big in your country?

I kinda hate LLMs ngl they do fundamentally change aspects of my research and make it easier to answer new questions, I can't not use them but like from a wider perspective I don't want to defend proprietary slop-machines from a single point of failure centralised provider? like fuck the corpos

RIP Old Google Assistant. Anyone know of a better alternative to Gemini? I refuse to accept Google's ToC for their soulless, earth-harming slop machine.

In other words - while it uses some AI models, the goal isn't to drain creativity, but provide hands-free operation of a mobile device, which conforms to distraction-free, safe driving concepts.

AI as in more just the neural network, not a full blown chatbot. The sort of AI the Elder Techwizards and Techwitches were playing with before the filthy heathen capitalists attached chatbots to everything.

Update: I'm trying out Dicio, which is open source, using the open source, on device STT engine Vosk and openWakeWord. This app is basically mostly what Google Assistant was, which was a rather simple STT model that had access to various phone and Google functions.

The evolution of "Fly Me To The Moon" is interesting. From Kaye Ballard's 1954 pop ballad, to Frankie fucking with the formula with swing jazz, to Shira Sagisu fixing it by turning it to slow Bossa Nova and then realizing "How much more Bossa can we get?" Apparently, there's never enough Bossa.

Okay so, I had a really silly idea. I'm looking for recommendations of just... fun websites that you'd recommend to a younger version of yourself. I don't want social media sites. No imageboards. I want that weird science website. I want those weird HTML5 experiments. Poptropicas. Club Penguins.

I want to compile a list of sites so that when my niece is old enough, I can show her how to have fun online without selling her innocence to billionaires via social media.

Folks in my comments trying to imply that my occasionally misgendering myself is proof of "not being a girl" Yeah, I guess when I tell people "good morning" during the afternoon that means the sun is full of shit.

I wish people would stop saying "I'm stupid" whenever I point out something they are just learning for the first time. No. You're not. You just didn't get this part of the topic. You're learning. And that's cool. Learning is always cool.
