There is no greater five alarm fire than this. I don’t know how to break through to Republicans about the impact of ending VICP, but I won’t stop posting about it, and neither should you. Call your elected reps. Write letters. This is a living nightmare.

We love and appreciate ALL our hospital workers. We can only do what we do together.

Immigrants account for at least one in five hospital workers in nine states, including California, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. California has the highest share at 32%: on.kff.org/4lNZ9jo

1/ Your local hospital. Your kid’s checkups. Your parents’ nursing home. They’re all at risk. Congress just passed the largest #Medicaid cuts in U.S. history—$1 trillion over 10 years—and most Americans have no idea how this could affect them, even if they aren't on Medicaid.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.  Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

I just voted NO on the motion to proceed with the Washington Republican Tax Bill. Simply put: I cannot support a bill that will cut health care, raise premiums, and kill Georgia jobs. This bill robs from you to give another tax break to big corporations and billionaires.

I’m grateful that these people are willing to share their stories, hopefully so that others can avoid their fate. There is a reason that specific infections have been targeted by vaccines. Vaccine-preventable diseases are terrible.

Great Measles 2025 update in NEJM. It is unfortunate we need this but measles is on course to return to endemicity in the United States and Canada. A self inflicted predicament thanks to the spread and rise of anti-vaccine rhetoric. www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

1/ The first #ACIP meeting with RFK Jr.’s handpicked members wrapped up yesterday. Over 4,000 tuned in—a level of attention we haven’t seen since the pandemic. And for good reason: these meetings shape vaccine policy, coverage, timing, access and availability. Here's what happened 👇

This is a great piece by @jakescottmd.bsky.social on the safety of vaccines Share widely!!

I’m a physician who has looked at hundreds of studies of vaccine safety, and here’s some of what RFK Jr. gets wrong by @jakescottmd.bsky.social (congrats Jake - keep it up!) theconversation.com/im-a-physici...

Both my patience and the Commerce Committee hearing with RFK Jr. have come to an end. Summary: RFK Jr. said Bill Cassidy lied when Cassidy asserted that RFK Jr. wouldn’t change the membership of ACIP (RFK Jr. fired all members). RFK Jr. doesn’t believe that HHS-funded HIV work saved any lives

Just want to take a moment to shout out the international reporters helping us get the real story out. When an 80-year-old veteran with a walker is hauled off with his hands zip-tied behind his back, and the media spins it as a “threatening breach” of a police barricade

Especially when the politics takes over the medicine!!! Not many licensed (or practicing) physicians between those leading HHS, NIH, FDA

I heard this morning that my informatics colleague Dr. Atul Butte passed after a battle with cancer. He was a giant in the field & inspired many of us over his distinguished career. He was a passionate champion of the power of big data & his impact on our field is immeasurable. RIP Atul & thanks.
