I just became strongly annoyed that a Magdalene Vissagio book came up without me knowing of it. Then I saw it came out while I was writhing on the floor in pain in the lead up to my cancer surgery, so, yes, I was somewhat distracted at that moment.

Mags created Vagrant Queen, which was turned into a tv show currently available on Tubi. Her Kim & Kim reminded me not a little of Howarth's gonzo science fiction comics, only Kim & Kim are more pleasant to be around than Ron & Russ of Bugtown.

This is legit wild. One of the Trumpiest GOP kooks we’ve had holding high office here in Texas makes an absolute spot-on, beautiful, non-partisan call for government transparency against the governor’s attempt to hide his emails with Elon Musk.

Since so many missed it, let me share it without comment:

NEW: I'm joining a coalition of AGs demanding answers from Meta for suspending the No Kings Coalition's Instagram during nationwide protests. Meta must protect legitimate political activity of its platforms. We won't let Big Tech censor activism ahead of Election Day.

Was just reminded of this a moment ago. No clue why... "I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate.

who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating

than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection." - Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr, Letter From a Birmingham Jail, 1963

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice;

who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”;

NEW: Transgender Texas Student Union has retained counsel in response to the Travis County filing related to the fake transgender mailers. It's Chris Hilton, who previously worked for Ken Paxton at the Texas Attorney General's office and left temporarily to defend Paxton in his impeachment trial.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

"Pay no attention to him, Bill. A man loses two hundred-fifty dollars on the slots, and he thinks it gives him wisdom. Biggest mistakes I ever made were in listening to guys like that, instead of listening to my own heart… what my granddad used to call ‘The Tyranny of Reasonable Voices.’

Mistakes you make can always be worked out. The mistakes you don’t make because you do nothing, because you don’t try, you don’t risk, those are the ones that haunt you when you get old. Regret, that’s the real killer. Go where your heart leads you, Bill.

Life’ll take care of the rest. It always does." - J. Michael Straczynski, Thor #10 Give the Tyranny of Reasonable Voices little to no concern. If you take nothing else from JMS' words, know this.

Also the US has never had free & fair elections for everyone, and if this is your first time worrying about it, welcome to the party! Fortunately lots of people have been here for decades and know what to do, if you are ready to listen!

I do not go to pages for a damned AI summary. I go to pages for the information within and, if I misunderstand, it should be on me and not a fucking six-fingered plagiarism bot. The offer for an AI summary blocking the page angers me more than an ad blocking the damned page.

Wandering around downtown on my way elsewhere. I’m running early so I wander over to Klyde Warren Park (built on a bridge over one of Dallas’ most annoying highways, okay, that’s all of them) where they’re doing a trick or treat thing for the kids with a free movie (Toy Story 5).

Before the movie and appropriate music plays. Seasonal. “Thriller” comes on and a large group of 4-6 year olds get up and do the traditional dance. Now the Ghostbusters theme. My heart is full. I love my town.

May find myself heading back to East Texas. If so, it will be, must only be temporary. I consider such a choice to be admitting defeat and will lead to down, not across, yes? (More likely, oh, this is granddad's rifle in the closet, but...) Need to get the bike up to speed for use quickly,

All of this, by the way, is so I can get away from trying to find work, running myself down on gig apps, and focus instead on trying to get disability everyone says I should be able to get because of stage 4 renal cancer. I've already been sent in circles applying, which is why I gave up.

as I've had too many physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive bosses over the years, not counting those who were criminally ignorant and proud of it. First ignorant boss and I doubt I can hold back. First abusive boss and I'm sure I'll sit overnight in the Smith County Jail.

I did check the cost of transit between Dallas and Out There. Reasonable if you buy the ticket early, both for buses, as long as it's not Greyhound, and Amtrak. There are things in Dallas I refuse to give up, as long as I can swing that filthy lovely stuff.

as the car is down and out. Need to figure out an exit strategy so I'm not there longer than several months. If it goes longer than a month or two into 2027, I expect to feel trapped. Need to find a source of income. I know the bare minimum I need. I doubt a straight job will cut it for me,

We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.
