I'm sure plenty of people will poke fun at @dthompsondev.bsky.social for that little laptop incident, but I'll just say that you handled that with a lot more grace than I would've! Great start to #CYC26, man. Oh, and the talk was alright I guess. 😁

Hey @devmansam.net ! I've said it before and I'll say it again! Don't think for a moment we've forgotten about you. #100Devs isn't the same without ya, and we're looking forward to having you back.

Ya know, when I watched Dune 2, I assumed the ending was sequel bait. I recently finished the book. That's just how it ends: abruptly. I'm not sure I'd call it good or bad, necessarily. I just wasn't expecting it. I still had a good 150 pages left; turns out those were appendices.

Today I learned a valuable lesson regarding localStorage: treat it as untrusted input, or it may cause you problems later. Something as simple as a try catch block can save you a headache. #100Devs

Just found a job post from a company that, on their website, has the usual bragging about implementing AI in everything. The job post? It was for cleaning up AI-generated code.

So apparently, in certain corners of social media, people from all over the world are discovering the real America by coming here for the World Cup, and their reactions are just delightful.

Help me with a simple problem, code buddies. I'm trying to prevent a 'Place Order' button from executing unless the user has entered their name and phone number. What are some ways I can do it? Do you have any preference? It's a full stack react.js app, for clarity. #100Devs

I'm currently integrating the Stripe payment processing API into a storefront App. It seemed like a lot at first, but it's starting to fall into place. Have you guys used stripe, or perhaps recommend anyone else? #100Devs

Oh man, I wish I had learned about tab groups sooner. Now I've got all my madness nicely organized into 4 tabs: Learning, Building, Networking, and The Hunt. Try it if you haven't already! #100Devs

TIL that Javascript environments have acess to the Crypto API, which allows you to generate a "v4 UUID using a cryptographically secure random number generator." Can be quite useful for making truly unique React keys, without which your UI might break unexpectedly.

Today I had that weird situation of looking at some of my past work and saying 'Wait... why did I do it that way? There's a better way to do that' *proceeds to refactor* Oh, past-me, truly you are a mystery.

Looking back on an old project, simultaneously impressed and confused by past-me's decisions. I'm debating whether or not to start the project over with my improved knowledge of #react. Who else has experienced this? #100devs

Trying to improve the UX of my app. Users will need to delete things, but with no 'Are you sure?' they might end up deleting the wrong thing, which is no bueno.

Did you know that a fat arrow function's return is implicit UNLESS you use a code block, where it becomes explicit? I didn't. Here I thought I was having react-specific trouble, but nope; just javascript. Nothing like learning something new to show you holes in your old knowledge. #100Devs

For the love of god... I put down the work and say 'okay fine I'll finish this up later' but my brain says "oh no, we're still thinking about this. Open VScode again right now!"

I do a codewars problem every day. If I'm low on time, I might do an easier one just to keep the brain in code mode. I realized today that I'm running out of those easier ones. Guess I'm just gonna have to do harder ones by default.

Man, there's nothing quite like picking back up an old project that you left collecting dust for a bit. "What is this? " "Why did I do that? " "Where am I?"

I've been on call for Jury Duty the last couple months. Today I'm finally called in and my alarm just decides to not go off, so I nearly miss it. Not a fun way to start the day.
