Lowering the Medicare eligibility age to 50 would guarantee healthcare to millions of more Americans at a critical age where earlier detection and treatment can make a big difference for patient outcomes. Let’s pass this bill!

In Washington State and across the country, the cost of childcare is completely unaffordable. A lack of affordable options isn’t just bad for families, it’s bad for our economy. It’s time to lower costs and ensure universal access to childcare.

Great news! The Washington State Medical Association passed a resolution to support universal access to a national healthcare program. Medical professionals are telling us that we all deserve a system centered on patients, not profit. We need Medicare for All!

Students who attend for-profit colleges incur costs at a higher rate, face a greater risk of their college closing, and make up 50% of loan defaults. My Students Not Profits Act protects students by stopping taxpayer dollars from funding these exploitative institutions.

thecollegeinvestor.comProposed Bill Would Cut Off Federal Student Aid To For-Profit CollegesRep. Jayapal's Students Not Profits Act would end federal student aid at for-profit colleges and tighten nonprofit conversion rules. What would change.

Kevin is my constituent and was my 2024 State of the Union guest. These cuts will put him and 250,000 Washingtonians at risk. Let me be clear: These cuts are not about so-called work requirements – they’re about taking away healthcare from people to fund tax cuts for the rich.

kuow.orgWhy 250,000 WA residents might lose their Medicaid next yearStarting in 2027, when low-income people on Medicaid in Washington and 39 other states have their insurance renewed, they’ll have to file paperwork proving that they work, volunteer, or go to school a...

Today, I’m in New York with Rep. Pat Ryan to announce the introduction of our legislation to lower the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 50. This is a commonsense and cost-effective way to lower costs and allow more Americans to get the care they deserve.

Weaponizing DHS and ICE against those who dare to exercise free speech is authoritarian and unconstitutional. I stand with Mahmoud Khalil as he brings his case to the Supreme Court. Allowing the Trump administration to deport him would be a stain on our country.

Meta shut down the No Kings account here in the US, and they’ve restricted content associated with President Lula in Brazil’s election. We need answers from Meta to ensure candidates in democratic elections at home and abroad have an even playing field on their platforms.

We cannot cede total control to the oligarchy and allow them to get away with something as concerning as slowing down communications for our ally, Ukraine. Congress has power, we must use it. We need serious oversight over Elon Musk.

TV streaming. Concert tickets. Banks. Cell phone carriers. Last year, there were 30 corporate mega-mergers under Trump valued over $10 BILLION. Co-authored a report with @warren.senate.gov to expose how this consolidation and corruption is raising prices for all of us. ⤵️

Vice Chair @jayapal.house.gov co-chairs the CEC’s Trans Equality Task Force & is a co-lead of H.R. 8582 which would nullify Trump’s expanded Global Gag Rules—including the trans global gag rule—to protect human rights and public health in foreign assistance.

No billionaire, especially one that gets massive contracts from our government, should have the power to unilaterally decide to shut down communications and weapons during a war of critical importance to the US and Ukraine. We must investigate this and hold Musk accountable.

What we said would happen is happening. Republicans ending TPS for Haitians has led to incredible job loss, harming businesses and the local economy in communities like Springfield, Ohio. Scapegoating hardworking immigrants hurts all of us.

Alina Habba, who Trump unlawfully appointed as US attorney in NJ, and who later served as senior advisor to the Department of Justice, received a $50 MILLION contract to work for a billionaire, just WEEKS after Trump pardoned him. This administration’s corruption has no end.

Oregon is the first state to have every Democratic Member of Congress as a cosponsor of Medicare for All! This is a huge step forward towards making universal healthcare a reality in this country. Which state will be next?

ICE has notified me of another death that has occurred in their custody. This is the 59th death under Trump’s second term. We cannot allow this to continue. We need justice for ICE’s abuse, and we must completely eliminate this broken for-profit system.

Monopolists have an incredible amount of control over critical infrastructure and communications across the globe. From Starlink slowing down in Ukraine to Meta shutting down the No Kings account, it’s clear these companies and billionaires need real oversight and regulation.

EXPLAINED: The 287 (g) program allows local police to boost Trump’s kidnapping and disappearing campaign. Local law enforcement should be protecting our communities, NOT helping Trump with racial profiling and targeting our neighbors with no criminal records.

I hear from my constituents nearly every day about how their healthcare premiums have skyrocketed — some so much so that they’ve dropped their coverage altogether. This should not be our reality in the richest country in the world. It’s time for Medicare for All.

Kimberly Guilfoyle’s corruption should not surprise anyone because this level of grift is happening all across the administration — starting at the top with Trump. The American people have had enough. When we retake power, there will be accountability.

Thank you to the local law enforcement who immediately responded to protect my office when we received a suspicious letter. This was clearly an attempt to intimidate and silence us, a tactic straight out of Trump’s playbook. These threats won’t work. We’re not backing down.

Medicare for All means freedom. Freedom to switch jobs. Freedom to start a small business. Freedom to make choices that are best for you and your family without worrying about losing your healthcare.

The cruelty is stunning, and it’s the point. ICE is smashing car windows and arresting parents at school drop off, forever traumatizing their young children. ICE has no place in our communities, and certainly not at our schools. Dismantle ICE.

I was trapped in the Capitol on Jan 6th. I know how important it is to safeguard our elections from Trump. This week, Rep. Joe Morelle and I hosted an Election Security Town Hall to discuss how House Democrats are doing everything in our power to ensure free and fair elections.

Not only is Trump’s ballroom wasting our taxpayer dollars, it’s also another source of this administration’s blatant corruption. These ballroom donors have benefited from regulatory decisions, government contracts, and pardons.
