Hi! For the past few months I've been building a vector drawing app, because the existing ones either don't work for me, use deceptive subscription models, or both. The app is called Superlinea, and I've started a newsletter to share progress as I develop it & announce the release: superlinea.app

I recently added two new features in superlinea.app Ghost Paths: while you move a point or a path, the old lines stay on the canvas as a guide, and your point snaps to them. This makes dragging a corner along a slanted edge very easy.

No drawings were harmed during the recording of these videos. Well, they were, but then I pressed ⌘Z, so they are fine now.

The second one is… a cutting-edge feature: the Scissors tool (sorry). You can cut in three ways: 1. Click a path to split it at a point.

Question for the chat: Is deciding whether an image or video is AI or not the biggest MMO the world is playing right now?

Muting the words 'you', 'can', 'see', 'everything', and every other word in the Wikipedia article of the movie so I don’t get spoiled before it gets released in Spain in 2030.

What? Another price increase for .com domains?! Are we running out of the materials we use to make TLDs or something?

I’ve started a blog to show off the features I’m adding to Superlinea, like the one in the video, which lets you draw tangent lines between shapes: superlinea.app/blog/constru... Also, tangentially: I’m sending the first newsletter today to everyone who subscribed to get updates.

Weird question, but: when a character in a movie is asked to or has to memorize something, like a phone number or a street name, do you also try to remember it until that piece of information is used? Because I can't not do that.

After 8 wonderful years, the Criterion Channel is finally, truly geofenced. It was a great run. You'll be missed 🫡

There's a café in Berlin with the worst possible egg-related pun: "Café EGGRYTHING". Why did they choose that when "Ist mir Eggal" was right there?

Sure, invite me to your mysterious meeting. No need for a heads-up or a note in the invite explaining what it's about. Don't sweat it, just send it; the fewer details I have, the better. I thrive in the nebulous void of information, I love being unprepared & exposed to the Great Unknown from 9 to 5.

I can't stop thinking about this article on the privilege of writing bad at work. It totally matches my experience. I also think bad grammar doesn't just worsen as people go up the ladder, it also has to do with most people in power being unempathetic sociopaths tadaima.bearblog.dev/privilege-is...

tadaima.bearblog.devPrivilege is bad grammarWhen I got my first real job, I used to get so nervous about writing emails to my boss. I would run spellcheck, triple-check the grammar, read over it again ...

I'm having a lot of fun working on and using my Anki companion app: Ankitron. And I'm also very happy with the new website I built, where you can test the app without downloading it: ankitron.com

The cool thing about the website is that the HTML in the demo stays in sync with the actual app, so with every release, the fake version automatically gets more and more powerful (exactly like you would if you used Ankitron to study, ahem).

There's ONE WEEK LEFT to nominate your favourite non-commercial, artistic, poetic, silly, frivolous website of the past 12 months for the 2026 Tiny Awards! We've had 100s of nominations so far but would like more, please - entries are free, please help us celebrate the Good Internet: tinyawards.net

After years of climate anxiety, I'm honestly relieved to find more and more confirmation every day that I wasn't worrying for nothing, like I always do!

I added support for @standard.site on my blog a couple of weeks ago and then proceeded to not publish a post because my love for open-source protocols will always be eclipsed by my true love: avoiding writing at all costs.
