I'm fascinated by Shakespeare Apocrypha. (In 2002, I directed "2nd Maiden's Tragedy," believed at the time to be Shakespeare's lost "Cardenio.") For years, the play "Edward III" has been attributed to Shakespeare… and new data suggests the attribution is accurate. www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...

theguardian.comScholars conclude ‘beyond doubt’ that Shakespeare was main author of Edward IIIExclusive: Play anonymously published in 1596 was collaboration between Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe, according to computer analysis

I wish I could express the feelings surrounding this loss. I will at some point. For now, all I can say is… be at peace, my friend. Or rather "My man!" Love you, good sir. Say "hi" to Diana for all of us.

For years, Microsoft provided charities with M365 (Office, etc.). Then they decided to stop being generous… and last month they deleted nonprofits' data. (My nonprofit wasn't affected; we didn't use OneDrive.) Question tho: Why did Microsoft end the program? Do they need charities' money so badly? 🧐

Oh well. So goes 2026. You hung in the race way longer than anyone expected this year — so good on ya lads! May the road rise to meet ya next year (if there IS a 2027 season…).

Wow @microsoft.com. Thank you, so very much, for your new September 2026 Windows 11 update. You know — the one which rendered me completely unable to boot into Windows. You guys rock. (In other news, macOS 27 installed beautifully.)

Exactly 20 years ago, we began principal photography on the first feature I directed, "Yesterday Was a Lie," for eOne (and later IndiePix). As I go into production on my newest film, I can't help but reminisce about those times long past with tremendous gratitude. "Where do you start?"… indeed. 🥲

"As streaming became dominant, a shelf full of stuff started to look like a relic of a clumsier time. When titles started disappearing from digital collections, however, those dusty stacks reemerged as both a critical contingency plan and material proof that the media business was changing."

It deserves ALL the love!

Thank you very much for the love, @pcgamer.com! Take a look at writer Fraser Brown's breakdown on why STO is still going strong, and why it's the best Star Trek game out there. https://www.pcgamer.com/games/mmo/after-outliving-6-star-trek-tv-shows-star-trek-online-deserves-more-love/

The Foundational Questions Institute has released new data regarding wavefunction collapse that sounds intriguingly similar to Roger Penrose's arguments re: objective reduction (Sir Roger is one of the Nobel Prize-winning members of the FQxI)! www.sciencedaily.com/releases/202...

Happy 96th birthday to Michael Forest, who played Apollo in the Star Trek episode "Who Mourns For Adonais?" (Unsurprisingly, his audition included taking his shirt off.) He played the role again in 2012 in the fan film Star Trek Continues.

It's dead, Jim. Back in the day, I used to love these things… Over time I owned at least two, maybe three of them? I remember the time when these bad boys were the gold standard — and kinda the only real game in town — when it came to cutting and finishing a theatrical feature.

Amazing night… starting w/ incredible new doc BEAM ME UP SULU… followed by after-party-ing at SCUM AND VILLAINY. But the perfect nightcap was watching the launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg, leaving a brilliant fiery trail across the starry sky. A fitting ending to a "Trek" evening, indeed!

Amazing. But… this hasn't got s--t on Doctor Who. The 1988 DW story "Remembrance of the Daleks" — set in November 1963 — includes a scene in which the first ever (1963) episode of DW begins to play on a TV. So the DW TV series exists within its own universe. 🤯

When I was very small and went to school in fall ’81, I had an assignment to draw my favorite memory from the past summer. I drew (a very simple, long-lost version of) this image. My teacher came over and said “Is that Indiana Jones?!” She proceeded to tell me how cool that was, and gave me an A. 👍🏼
