James Turner

All I wanted for my birthday was to raise a Desert Buck during this mornings Dawn Guard. That’s $22,805. We ended up raising $47,268. So yah, good birthday. 🎉

It’s my birthday today and all I want is for you to go to desertbus.org and make a donation. If you do that right now, and make it $6.33, you could win an incredible scarf!

I wanna say this is the most elder millennial targeted internet browser ad I’ve ever seen, but it’s the only elder millennial targeted internet browser ad I’ve ever seen. youtu.be/E2AoYIKwJqM

Oh that's a good art challenge. Looking forward to seeing the submissions.

Y’all paid for a lightning bolt. Y’all get a mother bussing LIGHTNING BOLT ⚡️

That's time in the round! In the last 45 minutes we had 10 donations of $5, 2 donations of $10, and 1 donations of $100. Those are all divisible by $5, close enough :P Here's another $170 to the pile, keep it coming!

This will be the last push before @desertbus.org kicks off in *checks watch* 7 HOURS? yikes.exe Anyways, we're $5600 away from our $29,999 target. So get yourself over to desertbus.org and donate $5. For the next 40ish minutes I'll match all $5 donations that come in up to $250. Let's GO!

Kinda figured someone would wander by and do this. It remains wild to me that with still slightly over 48 hours before we even START this years run, we have already matched what we made in year one.

Desert Bus Stuff! Go and donate! If we hit $29,999 before we go live Friday I'll treat everyone at the Moonbase to a Dilly Bar, and I'll get a silly haircut with lightning bolts! desertbus.org I need your DAWN GOOD NEWS stories! Head over to goodnews.desertbus.org and submit a story!

Perhaps letting companies get so big they can just swallow up everyone else and spit them out was actually a bad idea?

This season of the Punch-A-Chunk started June of 2025. Today I finished spelling the word PUNCH by digging out 52 chunks total. It's a very silly thing, but I was pretty stoked to get it done right before we kick of Desert Bus.

Check your mirrors, your alignment, and the speed limit: @desertbus.org for Hope 2026 is almost here! Starting today you can support Child's Play and keep the bus on the road with this year's shirt, plus a special anniversary design: www.fangamer.com/collections/...

$17,000 is pretty cool. You know what’s cooler? $29,999. Head over and donate $5 if you can. Let’s keep this total moving :) desertbus.org

How the fuck is it that we’re about to do the 20th Desert Bus?! I was 23 when we started this shit. I turn 43 the Monday of the run!

AI ain’t got shit in this stellar Tiny Desk performance from Cardi B and her band. youtu.be/HYA9e0XOUGk

This game was a blast. Didn’t hurt I had an audience and stupid self imposed rules :P I see why the Tidy Up genre is big.

Last years hit new Dawnguard at @desertbus.org segment DAWN GOOD NEWS returns, and we're looking for your feel good news stories (ideally from the past month or so) ahead of the run. Head over to the Google form and share your best good news stories you've got! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

I was really planning on this year being the year I flew down to Vegas, rented a car, drove to Tucson, spent a night, drove back and documented the whole thing. But I’m not traveling to the US right now. So I’ll save that for another year. I promise I’ll make it happen. James Turner guarantee.

Sometimes I’m smart. I had a very full week, and have a very VERY full couple weeks coming up so I scheduled my vaccines between the two. The downside being I feel pretty meh on my last true day off until November 5th. It’s not too bad, I just feel like complaining. 😬

Got the two rolls of film I took with me to Iceland developed. Sharing a few here cause that’s what’s the internet should be about. Sharing experiences with people… by making them look at your vacation photos :P

New album from The Avalanches. Super excited. Please be good 😊

I'm a simple man, I just want to win tonight's $90 million dollar lottery so I can afford a house with a table large enough to support an 8 player draft.

Step 1: Open your preferred text messaging app. Step 2: Scroll until you see someone you genuinely love, but maybe haven’t talked to for a while. Maybe it’s been couple weeks, months, of even years. Step 3: Text them, and see how they’re doing.

Sounds like Reddit changed something and now the app I used to look at the handful of subreddits I still followed no longer works. So I guess I don’t use Reddit much anymore cause their official app is absolute shit, and I’m not paying a monthly fee for a good one.

If you’re in the market for a rare playmat to add to your collection, Maria has you covered. So many excellent playmats on offer.

Finished up Ted Lasso tonight. I know this season hasn’t been everyone’s favourite, and I have my criticisms to be sure, but what this show lacks in focus, it more than makes up for in heart, and I’m more willing to make that sacrifice right now. We need more heart.

It’s kinda always like this, I’m not concerned at all. But it’s tricky to get really excited about Desert Bus in the lead up cause end of the day it’s this thing that takes every inch of being to do and that’s so much work :P Anyways, this year’s been even trickier with the show happening so early.

I use both the Twitch app on my iPhone, and Apple Music on my Windows PC every day. And every day I’m reminded they are absolute shit software experiences. It’s 2026 y’all. You have zero excuse for this crap.

Thanks for having him, great that he wasn't here.

Let’s hear em!

It’s pretty rough living here, but we manage.

I may still be awake at 12:45AM (super unusual at this point in my life) but I did just see a cute family of raccoons that live in the hedge outside.

Have you seen Digger? Did you like it? I need to hear normal opions, not the greater internet discourse. I have some pretty strong opinions which I won’t share yet, so as not to influence any thoughts folks have.

At my first Thanksgiving dinner for the weekend, and because of course it did ChatGPT got mentioned and my 15-year-old niece rolled her eyes and boo’ed. Couldn’t be more proud of this girl.

The post you see when you open the app to make the post you see. Turns out art and human creativity are pretty fucking important.

I got $20 we see this guy in a few weeks. It’s the 10 year anniversary. Dear god.

I’ve gotten a lot of Andrew Garfield in my version of the internet the past week and damn that dude is charming. And hot. Pretty bullshit if you ask me.

Bus is coming.

Headaches are the worst. And like, I didn’t do anything wro— what’s that? I sat at my PC for 11 hours today? Well that’s on me then.

This is a big fucking deal, and becomes more important every single passing day. Studio X and the D&D team announce their plans to join the United Wizards of the Coast Union. unitedwizardsofthecoast.com/studiox-letter

He’s literally just Lord Farquaad.

You should buy all my fire extinguishers says guy holding all the matches. These idiots need to be chased out of town so hard they disappear. www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

Sometimes when you leave the house to run errands you’re a responsible adult and don’t overspend. And sometimes you buy a little guy.

Did you know if you go to scryfall.com, scroll to the bottom, there’s a “Donate to Scryfall” link? Can’t think of a better way to show your support on their 10th anniversary. As both a player and creator I couldn’t imagine this game without this incredible resource.

I’m not really a Hot Take kinda guy, but here’s my Magic hot take for the day. There’s soooooo much Commander content. Like, maybe too much. So here’s a Cube Draft VOD from our Sub-A-Thon to get a little limited in your life 😎 youtu.be/iPM43VdcmQc
