If I had a nickel for every time someone accidentally replied to the entire 1800+ person listserv with a personal email, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened TWICE IN THE SAME DAY!?

Halfway through #LISASymposium2026 and the energy's anything but halved! Brilliant talks and an engaged community. Let's chase them gravitational waves! Here's the crew and energy at midpoint - ready for round two! #lisasymposium2026

Anyone out there inventing new pasta shapes? Whos the authority on that? I feel like the maths people would be the final call on things if tensions were to… boil over.

It’s a great book, but sort of idiosyncratic in its approach to general relativity. Maybe not the best place to learn the subject but a worthwhile read. On the other hand, does your favorite GR textbook tackle the really big questions like “Is Middle Earth flat?” (18/n)

NYC is going through a second false Summer today. If I crack and put my air conditioner in, the temperature outside will surely plummet back into the 40s as punishment 🥲

Waking up to the #Artemis II live stream and delighted to find one of the solar arrays was turned around towards the Moon.

Left the #Artemis II live stream up on my computer last night. Waking up to this view is nothing short of magical.

Scrolling through my follow feed and seeing everyone post their own screen grab is just awesome 🤩

Hey #astrosci scientists, has anyone included a "I did not use AI" disclosure in one of their recent papers? I would like include one in an upcoming work, so I want to see if there is already a standard.

@steampowered.com @valvesoftware.com will games using DLSS 5 be required to disclose AI use on the steam store?

Nvidia CEO: “because they’re wrong” What a tone deaf and ignorant response. I don’t want generative “AI” to touch the media I consume. A game developer using image generation for textures is the same thing as using “DLSS 5” and I won’t buy games that use the technology.

To all those living in New York for the first time: Sorry about the past couple of nice weather days. That was fake spring 1. We’ll have another one or two of them before we really get a good spring going on 🥰

Whoever decided to make an android based tv operating system that 1. takes a long time to boot, and 2. frequently crashes, better watch your back 👊

As someone who consistently grows lettuce from seed, I didn't know the daisy thing, but good heavens, the conditions are always right for lettuce to decide they don't want to be lettuce anymore, & just wanna be pretty, bitter flowers instead.

You’re telling me a bunch of old school democrats voted to end debate without any concessions and NONE of them are up for re-election in their state? Huh. Ol’ Chuck really pulling the wool over our eyes this time 🙄

Should’ve posted yesterday! In a paper titled “Searching Within Galaxies for the Earliest Signs of Quenching With Spatially Resolved Star Formation Histories in UVCANDELS” we divided star-forming galaxies into bits to see how star formation changed depending on location over the last billion years.

Update: Updated my firmware per suggestions, and things seem more stable! However, my USB devices are acting a bit wacky. Reinstalling drivers seems to have fixed some issues. That being said, I'm probably one more dead-end issue away from just switching to Linux and living happy.

Gonna need the cosmic radiation to stop targeting my pc. Can’t figure out if this BSOD problem I’ve been having is due to software or hardware. All signs point to hardware since the problem persisted through windows installs. The thing is, linux and a diag OS have absolutely no issue.
