My org is migrating over to Claude Desktop and literally expects me to go through 30 minutes of training 🙄 "Tokenomics 101: Fueling AI" - HR should be ashamed of themselves.

Every time I do work in .NET these days, I curse the dotnet team for not supporting something like `--env-file=.env` natively on the dotnet CLI. They've built a massive system where you can get config from anywhere. Yet, they made sure to exclude the local dev setup that EVERYTHING ELSE SUPPORTS!

And yes, there is a third-party NuGet package, but I'm on a team of .NET developers who don't do anything outside of .NET and neither understands nor trusts .env files. So, getting them to utilize them for local dev secrets is a non-starter. The team needs cohesion.

I know that I'm a fool for believing that my job will be better once the sale of my company from our current parent is completed (any day now), but the smallest glimmer of hope is the only thing keeping me from going insane.

I had hoped that migrating to formSheet would fix the miserable existence of bad insets for React Native sheets on Android. It most definitely did not.

New Grok model, and you know what that means! I have to tell Cursor to stop using it 100 times before it takes the hint. Wish my org would give us another option besides GH Copilot

Is there a magic fix to get iOS simulators to pick either the newer Device Hub in Xcode or just stay with the older Simulator wrapper? I only have Xcode 27 installed now and Simulator app no longer seems to exist - yet when I close Device Hub, the iOS sim re-launches in Simulator.

Why doesn’t the iPhone 18 Pro preorder let me select “choose a carrier later” when I specify financing with the Apple Card? I went ahead and paid the amount to get the unlocked device because it’s not that big of a deal for me, but that’s weird.

Ehhh. I love that they're adding transcription on Apple Watch for folks that are hard of hearing, and it is a great feature for everyone. But I *really* hope they got the security right on that Siri translation. Knowing that there is an Apple device recording everything I say in public isn't cool.

i’m convinced people who enjoy ai coding never really wanted to be developers to begin with. they wanted power over the computer but they didn’t care about the actual craft. so when a new way came along that let them get out of the coding, that was more appealing than actually doing the work.

Legitimately impressed with oh-my-pi (and probably pi in general). I love how it's just made the dozens of skills that everyone thinks are "must haves" part of the IDE.

I'm trying really hard to follow the "3-3-3 method" for productivity: - Spend 3 hours on the most important task - Complete 3 tasks you've been avoiding - Complete 3 tiny tasks to keep work/life running smoothly It hinges on diligence of breaking down small tasks, in my opinion. (1/2)

But, it has *really* opened my eyes to how bad I am at deciding "oooo I'm going to just check this one thing real quick." I know very well that my ADHD is a pain, but not down to that micro level. (2/2)

I'm really liking Flue, except for it forcing Valibot. What a weird choice in 2026. A <5kb bundle savings over zod 4 is absolutely not worth the DX misery.

I'm making the move back to VS Code from Cursor. Does anyone have recommendations for a better tab/inline completion extension than GH Copilot provides? I still use those more than prompts, and I've never seen anyone do it as well as Cursor.

I threw together a *very* rudimentary iOS app to explore how much I could interface with my new Bookoo coffee scale. Dealing with Bluetooth is definitely more annoying than I thought it would be. There were a few moments where I thought, “I could expand this into a BT explorer app.” But, no thanks

1Password filling in Safari running iOS 27 beta has been pretty bad. Just experienced problems in Edge now too (corporate-enrolled device). So, it seems like an Apple issue. Some websites just don’t get input from 1Password for the selected creds.

YouTube is so obnoxious. My partner likes to watch vids of people camping on the TV and naps most of the time. I’m sitting there on my laptop and partially listened to a health food infomercial for at least 20 minutes. When I finally hit Skip, YT decided “nah, you need to watch ANOTHER ad first.”

There's not a single sign-in process on the entire web that I hate more than Google's. - No, I don't want to use *that* Google account for this - No, I don't want to be forced to sign in with *that* account before I can do anything - Just fucking let me sign out of *that* account

I just saw a supposed AI “expert” claim that Claude will imbed a watermark when you ask it to fix spelling errors in text. It can be such a powerful tool to smart people, but omfg people are morons.

I gave impeccable a try to improve a new feature in React Native. I don't think it really does as much as it likes to claim it does, but it did make several improvements on a11y and clarity. I was a bit frustrated to see command recommendations from `audit` that produced no changes whatsoever.

People are justified in complaining about Apple's App Store approval process, but Google is equally as stupid in different ways. I've waited longer for an update approval Google, even though Google started first, and seen Android traffic on our review user come in at random times throughout.

I'm over here pre-filling user contact data into a form for them because _of course_ the ticket is going to ask me to do that. But, do I really need to show them I have their phone number when 99.99% of people who fill this out won't provide that?

Can't connect my iPhone (iOS 27 beta) to Xcode 26. Can't use Xcode 27 because my org hasn't updated to macOS 26.6. When the boss asks "why can't you just use your own iPhone for testing?" THIS IS WHY The last iPhone they bought for my testing was an iPhone 7.

Just found out about the Women’s Professional Baseball League (WPBL). Very excited. MLB is openly hostile to baseball fans and isn’t worth the time. I just hope they don’t gate keep it behind TV subscriptions.

Stacked PRs is a weird solution to a discipline problem. But, I’ve worked with teams that just can’t get “always rebase and push atomic commits” into their brains.
