Pruett’s Pause: AEW All In London and creating perfection in imperfect times, including thoughts on Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay, Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Moné I had an unexpected amount of feelings in this one and really hope you’ll read it!

Clockwork Carnage would be so fun for any championship aside from the AEW Men’s World Championship. PPV mains should be one-on-one.

Jon Moxley vs. Grief itself for feud of the year. 🤼

Brilliant tag team wrestling at AEW WrestleDream tonight. And we have not seen the best of three falls trios match yet.

tonight’s unexpected indoor gig

I wrote sometime in the 2010s about how big dumb ladder matches were pointless and dangerous. Bubba Bully Ray Dudley got mad at me on Twitter about it.

Got to go on the field at sofi after that Rams loss last night and soak in some sadness. (For real though, neat experience getting to walk down onto the field)

AEW Dynamite Grand Slam France Thoughts! 10 of them! I have opinions about Clockwork Carnage and praise for a really great show from Tuesday night! I also got to use one of my favorite Okada photos.

I do sort of think it’s an ethical use of ai to recreate adobe applications without insane subscription fees…

This one feels like one of those “Tony’s high school notebook” ideas that feels complicated at first and turns out alright. Then again, I sort of love King of the Mountain matches too.

it's odd how fumbled their breakup, singles pushes, and reunion storyline were... however there is something there with both of these wrestlers. hopefully they get out on the indies and in the world and get better.

My review of last night's AEW Dynamite - ditched the usual 10 Thoughts for this week and wrote an essay I hope doesn't suck...

thinking a lot about pac today. slightly dreading watching his tribute show tonight... what a gift to have watched and met a performer this talented and kind. what a loss to know he is gone so soon. i know the aew crew will make him proud tonight.

Weeping and hitting every flying move possible all at once. My heart is not ready for this match.

the lone bellow x belly up tavern september 27, 2026 saw a favorite band on sunday night and took some photos with my x100vi

I had planned to write about All Out today, but I can't really bring myself to see past Pac's passing to do so. Sorry friends. No thoughts on that show.

Just read the news and am in shock. Rest well, Ben. What a loss for the world.

Kind of messed up that Speedball Bailey doesn’t have a United Empire tracksuit yet. Maybe this is why the NWO used t-shirts. Hard to get a tracksuit ready in 4 days…

unlike most musical performances on AEW shows, this violinist is actually mic'ed and playing. it's nice!

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage wearing gear that echoes their WrestleMania 2000 gear. That show had the first three way tag team ladder match and was the precursor to TLC, which would happen that August at SummerSlam.

what if hangman and swerve simply fought forever?

Really hoping Steven Borden is okay after that scary landing and stoppage... I do have to praise AEW, the referee, and the doctor for stopping that match immediately. If you remember early AEW history (Guevara vs. Matt Hardy), you know they have not always responded this way.

why do popular wrestling websites just post clips of smackdown and easily available interview quotes all day? didn't these sites used to do news?

WWE on Rumble? I’ll just drop this blog here. It’s more correct today than it was when I wrote it. It will be more correct in 6-12 months than it is today. WWE is fascist private equity wrestling for unimaginative people.

AEW x Blackwing pencils. No product has ever been more targeted at me.

Going to start using “kicking out of the one winged angel” as a euphemism for gay.

Uh-oh. I wrote nice things about Mercedes Moné and now the sexists are being weird in the comments.

throwing this blog out into the wind again before aew dynamite this evening… my review of aew all in, including an essay on ospreay, moné, nightingale, and omega capturing perfection. also 10 thoughts on the rest of the show! it’s a big one for the biggest show of the year.

There’s a good bit before and after this, but the core of the piece is here (again, click in and read it and comment and be cool please). Biggest show of the year means it’s the biggest Pause of the year. I broke out the essay writing pen for it.

The tears from Will and Kenny In this. Creating something so emotionally overwhelming you stand in the middle of the stage and feel that emotion with the fans. “Catharsis, man. It’s that good shit.“ - Aristotle, probably

big e is a real one.

Mercedes Mone is the best big match wrestler alive today.

Love TK’s music budget so much. Pay artists and make your wrestlers look cool as hell.

Okada with his big match robe and shorts. 🤼

rovert would have loved seeing britt baker return.

AEW shooting entrances with a mirrorless camera with shallow depth of field on this one. Fun.

Fun fact about this podcast - I spent a bit of it talking about how pointless posting about wrestling is these days. The live tweet era is over, friends. Just watch this stuff.

our greatest actor/wrestler

it says a lot about the standard that wwe set in the wrestling industry. aew seems leftist by being quiet/not doing much in comparison to wwe’s full throated joyful embrace of fascism.

This is the best video you’ll watch this month.

talking to male boomers is so weird. they always ask about work, but also have no idea how careers in the arts exist, so they say “they still payin’ you to make them videos?” and i say yes. then they stare at me blankly like i am supposed to ask about the job they retired from 20 years ago.
