I was interviewed recently by This Week In Video Games.

This Week in Videogames - TWIV@thisweekinvideogames.com

Destiny’s lore has been routinely saved by preservationists. With support ending on Destiny 2, their work becomes even more crucial. We speak to some of those responsible for archiving years’ worth of Bungie storytelling, including MyNameIsByf and the people behind the Ishtar Collective.

Does anyone else think it’s crazy that there's this world of lore, that millions of people fell in love with, and characters in it like Osiris, Saint-14, Eris, the Drifter, Savathun, Xivu Arath… …and somehow that world was mishandled by executives in a way that made the game shut down?

I should have said this in my post somewhere, but: I could not have built the Ishtar Collective as it is today without the help of a huge number of people, who all deserve credit. I'm very fortunate to have met so many wonderful, talented people.

From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. You made the universe of Destiny accessible. I spent so many evenings for years and years with dozens of tabs open, unravelling the mysteries within the pages. I'm glad Ishtar Collective is staying up. If ever it needs support, please let me know.

Bad juju: modern slang for bad vibes, negative energy, or an omen of bad luck. While used casually today to describe an unsettling atmosphere or a cursed object, the expression has deep historical and spiritual roots.

In light of recent... let's say "disturbances in my vibe," I need help. Precisely, I need your perspectives on what Clarity does for *you* that isn't already well-served by the Compendium or other major community resources. The more responses, the better. And don't do hypotheticals, please.

Yay! I've deployed the first version of our official Ishtar Collective lore bot for Discord! I'd love people to try it out and hit me up with feedback/bugs. Install it here: discord.com/oauth2/autho... And then read your favourite Destiny lore with `/ishtar lookup`! ⚪️

Late to discovering that this year's April fools from @ishtar-collective.net is that the text on the lore entries slowly moves up and down. I legit thought I was just getting tired from reading screens... Then I literally put my finger up to the screen to check. New levels of subtle trolling.

Every year on April 1st, we at the Ishtar Collective have tried to do something fun. This year I had very big plans, but for a number of reasons, many of them of my own making, they never came to fruition. I’m very proud of the thing we built, and maybe one day I’ll share it, but not today.

Onomastics: the study of names, including their origins, meanings, and cultural significance, covering personal names, place names, and other proper nouns. Alethonym: ('true name') is the proper name of the object in question, the object of onomastic study.

I’m going to look at automating posting to Bluesky for the @ishtar-collective.net account. Any recommended Ruby libraries for Bluesky/at protocol? Reading the docs it doesn’t sound too bad to format the request, but if someone has done the hard work, even better 😉

You are up to date.
