You have no idea how much I enjoyed Forgotten Island. Listen, I'm a Disney girl through and through, but DreamWorks has been serving for a while now 😭 This one's so creative, whimsical, imaginative and heartfelt. And that blend of animation styles!! Are you kidding me!!!

The heck was THIS, DreamWorks?? The Wolf from Puss in Boots combined with Prowler from Spider-Verse but straight from your worst horror nightmare?? I was SHOOK. Spent a whole bunch of the movie asking myself how the heck did they even get a greenlight for this. Soooo good. #ForgottenIsland

Movie's got some pretty insane shots too, lots of shots where the camera is on the ground or up at the corner, wide shots with camera spinning around the characters, you can totally see they had so. much. fun playing around.

Tell me WHO exactly wants this, aside from AI tech bros that cry out "y0u cAn't stop tHe pr0gr3ss!!!111"

Google is transforming Search from a list of links into an AI-powered experience filled with conversational answers, autonomous agents, and interactive interfaces β€” a shift that could further reduce traffic to publishers across the web.

So many 2D projects, I love it!

No fewer than 44 animated feature films at Annecy Festival 2026. In addition to those already featured at Cannes: Muyi (La Cachette), The Ribbon Hero, A New Dawn, Julian (Cartoon Saloon), A Story about Fire, and many more... (& even a movie version of Sekiro No Defeat). www.annecyfestival.com

Oh this just makes me so happy

Pixar’s 'Hoppers' is now the second-highest-grossing Hollywood original since the pandemic, trailing only 'Elemental,' after reaching $375.1 million worldwide and surpassing 'Sinners' ($370.2 million). www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...

I am absolutely obsessed with BBC's The Other Bennet Sister. It reignited my love for period drama. Superb casting, witty writing, and I absolutely adored Mary's journey. I've watched it three times already 😭

Also just a lovely human being overall, I got to interview him once for Wheel of Time and he was so so nice to me 😭 I remember I felt so stupid because I asked what in my opinion were really basic and bland questions and he gave such thoughtful answers anyway lol what a good guy

That said I'm definitely gonna re-read the entirety of Jane Austen's works and might also pick up some Wordsworth

These two have all my heart!! Such incredible actors!! Ella Bruccoleri is a natural, this character is just perfect for her and she embodies it fully. Doesn't even feel like you're watching an actor. Comedy, vulnerability, authenticity... she can do it all. Super expressive too. I loved her so much

And DΓ³nal Finn is out of this world. Been a fan since the Hadestown times and I'm so happy to see him thrive in the business. Super talented, every single detail and gesture of his characters has meaning and intention. His Mr. Hayward is simply adorable. Just shows how theatre kids are THE BEST.

😍 but also 🀨 because of Lasseter

It's finally here! Brad Bird’s 'Ray Gunn' gets a trio of first-look images. Produced by Skydance Animation, the retro-futurist noir feature will stream later this year. www.cartoonbrew.com/feature-film...

THANK YOU @maggiekang.bsky.social πŸ‘ And please say it louder so Netflix can hear it too 😬 the movie reached that level of success *because* it was animated, not in spite of, as many executives still seem to think

β€˜KPOP DEMON HUNTERS’ creator Maggie Kang says she doesn’t think a live-action remake would work. β€œThere’s so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are so suited for animation” (Source: www.bbc.com/news/article...)

Yeahhh... so I guess it's time to leave this app as well 😐 I don't use it much anyway, but like... can we have at least one (ONE) good platform??

Violence is always unacceptable, and threats of violence have no place in public discourse. Our thoughts are with Charlie Kirk and his family.

Never unfollowed so quickly... Such a shame. Used to be a fan of their work, even met them a couple times. Really don't need this stuff on my timeline though πŸ˜…

Also, I'm not talking about the directors specifically cause idk about them, but usually this is the same people who argue that "kids stuff shouldn't be political", that we shouldn't put "woke messages" in movies and TV series... apparently that's only valid for the messages they don't agree with

Oohh so it's not ok to murder someone, but if *the State* does it... 🀨🀨🀨 seriously America, like wtf. Never seen a country so full of contradictions, don't they realize??

"Bluesky is boring." Social media *should* be boring. Being algorithm and dopamine poisoned is bad, actually. When your feed dries up for the day, that's your cue to go do something else until new stuff shows up later.

"I'm an animation fan that always makes it a point to support original stories" Pixar director I interviewed today: "Oh bless you" πŸ˜‚

Kpop Demon Hunters was so good! Loved Rumi's journey, great art direction and animation from Sony Imageworks and the soundtrack was really catchy. Would like a sequel for this one, I wanna see more of the other girls too πŸ₯°

Unfortunately I was given a very short time slot, but I tried to ask questions that both animation fans and casual viewers could enjoy. I'm really proud of how this turned out and they seemed really interested too, so that made me happy 🫢 they were absolutely lovely and the film is adorable!

Just saw #Elio. Fun, adorable and heartwarming movie. Didn't expect to like it that much. Definitely check it out if you liked Turning Red or Elemental. Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian are a powerful duo, Pete Docter was really into something when he decided to personally mentor them. #Pixar

When we grow up, we tend to see kids as always happy and carefree, but those of us who didn't forget and don't sugarcoat the past remember those feelings of loneliness, the struggle of feeling small, lost, misunderstood by adults, the tears, the fear of growing up... I remember it all

You don't usually see this in the media, and they portrayed beautifully. And I don't wanna give away spoilers, but the adults' reaction is masterfully crafted too... both Tia Olga and Grigon are complex and believable parental figures that try their best and make mistakes

I'm guessing it was Shi's doing, since she already proved herself with Bao and Turning Red, but seriously, her ability to observe, create and write believable and relatable kids is unmatched. And she really knows how to use visual metaphors and timing to convey strong messages

I loved the fact they chose to focus on kids' mental health. Elio isn't just the stereotypical outcast character, he's a kid who isn't able to communicate with his caregiver and feels like a burden so much that he literally wants to leave the planet

Walt Disney and Comcast's Universal filed a copyright lawsuit against Midjourney on Wednesday, calling its popular AI-powered image generator a "bottomless pit of plagiarism" for its use of the studios' best-known characters.

That's because they didn't leap from computer animation to live action, they leaped from stylized computer animation to photoreal computer animation and then made a shot for shot remake. Of course it's a safe bet, can't imagine anything safer than that really lol

Why on Earth are people reacting positively, he literally looks like Winnie the Pooh with a hat ☠️ plus he's super animated and exaggerated in 2D and here he's just... there. People really dig this photoreal stuff ☠️

It's so sneaky/sinister that Disney turned the ice cream guy into a native Hawaiian man. Lilo taking pictures of white mainland tourists is a kind of coping mechanism for being treated like an attraction/novelty, it's a vital part of her character. Disney clearly wants to defang the original film.
