It’s always an exciting day when a Kickstarter fulfillment arrives. Today, it was Shards of me—a “queer journey into a realm of fantasy and desire”—created by Łukasz Majcher. Part of the package included Bear Stories and three issues of Power Bear. Time to dive into the world of “big hairy dudes”!

After having read all three of Marvel’s Midnight titles, I’m glad I changed my initial decision to skip them. All three were enjoyable, though X-Men was the best by far. Vampires, religion, & internecine politics are catnip to me. Fantastic Four took the biggest swing, though, & really has me…

…to the spirit of the original series. There are even parallels to FF in that Felicia Hardy is a powerful VP at Oscorp who (seemingly) wants to take advantage of Peter’s research. Throw in a lawsuit Uncle Ben is pursuing and Peter agitating as an anonymous blogger against Oscorp as the differences.

Don’t get me wrong—it was still a good story. I was just expecting a dramatically different foundation, like the other two & the Absolute Universe. It was also not as exciting because we built up to the accident, while FF & X-Men dropped us in on action. Still, looking forward to all the #2 issues.

…intrigued. Sue Storm as a powerful businesswoman who swoops in to rescue disgraced Reed Richards after his disastrous lab accident (poor Victor!)? Johnny seemingly resentful of his plane accident and having prosthetics? Yes, please! More! OTOH, Spider-Man seemed to take fewer chances and hewed…

This is a poorly written headline. "Confirms" would have been so much better, for a start. But, sure, block fellow trans supporters because we don't like the headline. 🙄

It's amusing to me that people block not because of bigotry or cruel/nasty behavior or something similar, but because of calling out a bad headline about a cause they both support.

Blithe Spirit (1945) was our movie selection this weekend, a light-hearted nod to spooky season. The highlight was undoubtedly Margaret Rutherford as the medium, as she made us laugh out loud at her enthusiasm and antics. Res Harrison was charming and debonair as usual, and Constance Cummings…

…was lovely as the current wife. While I liked Kay Hammond as the late Mrs. Condomine, she had a strange way of speaking occasionally. As a Noel Coward play, it was filled with witty remarks and oozed style. Quite enjoyable.

Kicking myself for missing that answer. Tightrope, a daily trivia game | Britannica Oct. 11, 2026 T I G H T R O P E ✅ ✅ ✅ 💔 ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅ 🎉 My Score: 1800

I Read Comics! reposted

‘Protect the Dolls’ is a term meaning ‘take care of trans ppl’. Its origin is due to the campaign of persecution & violence aimed at this vulnerable part of the Gay community. LGBTQ ppl nationally, & internationally, have been flagging that UK state TV is actively transphobic, for years. More proof!

Bethany wore a “Protect The Dolls” t-shirt during rehearsals. The BBC posted it on their socials then quietly deleted and reposted it without showing her from the front. On TV last night they actually blurred the message #Strictly

Given how much I have enjoyed and looked forward to Mike Flanagan TV shows—The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher—I have almost zero interest in Carrie. Watching a movie of how horribly people treated her was bad enough…

…but an entire TV series? Can’t imagine that as someone who was bullied all through middle and high school myself. I’ll have to read up on what people say, and if it is different than I think it will be, I’ll reconsider it at that point.

Easy peasy! Did not even need the multiple guess answers. 🙂 Hmmm…guess I missed yesterday’s because I don’t remember a wrong answer, and I was on a short winning streak. Darn it! I’m on a 1 day streak! ⭐ www.afi.com/get-the-pict... #GetThePicture
