Another childhood favourite passes. RIP Walter

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky I'm another £2 record from last week. Still a few to go I'm afraid. This is a decent Bob album IMHO. Not A list but still pretty good.

The first of a series of #IntoTheGroove related 'textwalls' to give anyone who hasn't dived in yet, a rough idea as to what you can expect. Will also be sharing these on IG (@whenisbirths) and TikTok (@justin.lewis.when). Do share if you like it. Thanks.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky I listened to the CD reissue yesterday in the wind and the rain. But this wonderful album deserves a calm and high quality listen. This is the 1974 Japanese issue that I picked up from the marvellous Shoreham record fair last Saturday.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Listened to disc 1 one out on delivery today, and now disc 2. In calmer conditions with much better sound quality. A really lovely box.

A fairly unpleasant day on delivery and now a loud buzzing in my left ear. I'm guessing it's a bit of after effect from last weeks cold. But if it could stop, that would be lovely.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky ##ProgSky As someone once said, now for something completely different. I think the neighbours may need a break from the bass, so yet another £2 car boot album. In much better condition than the last one. Not my favourite, but a really great record.

Two things stand out after today at work. 1. I had exactly 200 parcels today for the first time over two large rural rounds. And 2. A ex-Radio 1 DJ ordered some booze from Amazon, but they weren't in* *Not much of an anecdote I admit.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky #DubSky Another £2 car boot album. Not in the best of nick, but two cleans through the #Humminguru and it looks a lot better. I wasn't going to pass on a Prince Far I for a couple of quid! Certainly testing the bass reponse on my speakers.

Colombo cutting off a piece of cheese* from a block and eating it in front of the murder victim is one of greatest things I've ever seen on television. *Cheese is very important in that episode.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Yet another £2 album. As the years pass, I grow fonder of the post-Gabriel pre-pop stars Genesis. This is a great album.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky With a wonderful voice marinated in Chivas Regal this may be my favourite LH album. Possibly the most melancholy thing put onto vinyl.

As we were on holiday last week, some more Pelicans were bought. Now on the shelves and in numbered order. Though sadly the numbers seem to peter out after a thousand odd. I am enjoying dipping into them.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Another £2 album from Saturday. And hardly played judging by the spindle hole. Sounds lovely.

I've been looking for a picture of my first midi system for ages, and finally found one. Bought from Boots with my staff discount in 1983, I was using those speakers until a couple of years ago until they finally gave up the ghost. Sony stuff always looked great.

The people in the bungalow at the bottom of the garden have started putting their big light on again. As soon as it starts getting gloomy in the evening, on it goes. Who sits with their big light on all the time? You only put it on if you've dropped something small on the floor.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky One of yesterday's £2 records, which seems unplayed (Jo said must been owned by a music lover. Not a Dylan fan!) and a US press. I always wonder how it these things end up at a cold West Sussex car boot on a disused airfield on a Saturday morning. What is its story?

Caught up with the guy who organised yesterday's Shoreham record fair at the car boot. I told him how enjoyable and great it was. And he had a lovely copy of this Goblin album and...... Just needs a clean. #Humminguru

As often happens, I'm sitting in a virtually deserted racecourse restaurant having a tea as Jo is on an antique hunt downstairs. This one does have lovely views though.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Nothing sounded like this before and nothing has sounded quite like this since. Music in the past and the future simultaneously.

Two days selling Betterware door to door. Realised that I had visited every house on my patch on the first day so why would anyone buy anything on second day?

This post is unavailable.

A great day of finds and bargains. A pile of £2 albums (as seen earlier), a great haul of CDs and 3 lovely albums from the Shoreham record fair. A Japanese Bridget Fontaine, a US 1st press Lee Hazelwood and a mint unplayed Joanna Newsom. Lots of cleaning and ripping to do!

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Loathe as I am to recommend stuff on here (too much of a coward) but I think @nportnell.bsky.social may like this improvised, raga tinged album. I absolutely love it. And this is a lovely mono copy i picked up in Newark on Wednesday.
